9 habits to keep your skin looking youthful

How to avoid wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes, changes in facial contours? In a word, how to look young longer? This question worries many women. The answer is shared by the head of the cosmetic company Clarins, one of the best specialists in his field, Dr. Olivier Courtin-Clarence.

It is not so difficult to resist age-related changes. You need to follow simple rules and adopt some very effective exercises.

1. Balanced diet

Food affects the condition of the skin more than many people think. Ideally, your daily diet should include:

  • Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C (spinach, cabbage, tomatoes). This element prevents photoaging of the skin.
  • Egg yolks, liver, butter, which contain vitamin A. It fights oxidative stress and maintains skin elasticity.
  • Vegetable oils, oily fish and nuts are sources of vitamin E, which prevents the appearance of signs of early aging.
  • Seafood rich in zinc. Zinc has anti-inflammatory properties and is especially indicated for those who suffer from acne or oily sheen.
  • Red meat, liver, apples and other sources of iron that improve tissue oxygenation.

2. Hand control

Try not to touch your face again. Easier said than done. Indeed, often we, without realizing ourselves, rub our eyes or nose, prop our cheeks, etc. And our hands are by no means clean. As a result, the natural balance of the skin is disturbed.

For the same reason, it is better not to press the handset of the phone or smartphone to the cheek. And always wash your hands before applying cream, makeup, or anything else.

3. Emotional control

Relax your facial muscles as often as possible and relax yourself. When you are tense, the jaws clench and you shrink. A wrinkle is laid between the eyebrows, the tips of the lips creep down. A relaxed face always looks more attractive. And it doesn’t require any extra effort. You just need to remember this several times a day.

Try to get angry as little as possible. Facial expressions that accompany negative emotions lead to the formation of ugly wrinkles.

4. Daily care

Distribute care products with light pressure of the palms from the center of the face to the contours. This method improves the absorption of active ingredients and prevents accidental injury to the skin. It is strictly forbidden to stretch it.

The more you pull on the skin, the more it is damaged. As a result, wrinkles and sagging of the face oval appear. And one more tip: after washing or showering, rinse your face with cool water. This will help maintain the tone of the epidermis.

5. Laughter therapy

The body produces the same hormones of joy when we play sports and when we laugh. So do not deny yourself the pleasure of having fun from the heart. Also, take note of this exercise. Sit comfortably, put your hands on your stomach – this is where your emotions are concentrated. Recall a funny clip from a movie, an anecdote, or any comical incident.

Start laughing until the fun takes over. At first, this exercise seems unnatural, but you will see that it quickly captures.

6. Visualization

Stress stimulates the activity of the sebaceous glands, which leads to clogged pores and pimples. So worrying about trifles once again is not worth it. Does not work? In an unpleasant moment, it is worth resorting to visualization.

Imagine yourself in your favorite place. Try to see it as detailed as possible – in colors, with all the smells, sensations, surrounding people. The main thing is that peace and serenity reigned there. The brain works with images and unconsciously responds to the pictures that we scroll through in our heads. With regular practice, you can quickly calm down at any time with the help of this technique.

7. Breathing exercises

Oxygen is essential for cells to function properly. Therefore, try to be outdoors more often and practice the following exercise. Find a quiet place and make yourself as comfortable as possible. Concentrate on your breath. Do nothing, just inhale and exhale thoughtfully. Then start breathing through your nose, slowly but without delay. Gradually lengthen your exhalation. This stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system responsible for rest and recovery.

8. Lifting gymnastics

Even at home, you can make your skin more toned in 5 minutes. To do this, perform the following exercise. Warm up a small amount of anti-aging cream in your palms, sit up straight, put your elbows on your knees, put your face in your palms. Relax your neck and support the weight of your head with your hands. Press the base of the palms to the forehead, and then move them to the lower orbital bones (1-2 cm below the eyes), so that the palms completely cover the eyes. Hold the position for 10 seconds. Move your palms to your cheeks. Hold for 10 seconds.

Grasp the oval of the face, joining the wrists under the chin, and wait another 10 seconds. Then for the same time move your palms to your ears and keep your head in the air. Finally, move your hands to your neck and apply light pressure to stimulate lymphatic circulation. Repeat this exercise regularly to improve skin tone.

9. Sun protection

Aggressive exposure to ultraviolet radiation is one of the main factors that accelerate skin aging. Therefore, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun without protective equipment. By the way, you need to use them, even if you are sitting by the window at work or spend the whole day behind the wheel. Glasses do not interfere with UV rays.
