“I feel tired in the morning, even if I slept like a log all night”, “I’m exhausted by dinner, the rest of the day passes on autopilot”, “Literally everything is annoying – and I can’t help myself, I grumble at colleagues, scream at children” … What is it – seasonal blues? Avitaminosis? Maybe. But if this condition does not last the first month, most likely, we are talking about chronic fatigue.
Today, among the many causes of chronic fatigue, an accelerated rhythm of life is singled out as a separate item, in which the body experiences constant stress, emotional and intellectual stress. Trying to save other body systems, the nervous system switches to an emergency, sparing mode of operation. But besides this reason, there are others – sometimes completely unexpected.
1. Reaction to the weather. Magnetic storms, strong winds, changes in atmospheric pressure, sudden thaws and frosts exhaust the nervous system and cause lethargy and malaise.
2. Strict diet. This is always stress for the body, and the stricter it is, the harder it is for organs and systems. Particularly harmful are mono-diets (on apples, kefir, and so on) and diets of 1000 kcal or less. The body experiences an acute nutritional deficiency and responds by slowing down metabolic processes. In addition, muscle mass is lost during them, and we literally weaken.
3. Sweets on an empty stomach. The sharp rise in blood sugar causes the pancreas to actively produce insulin. He quickly “recovers” simple carbohydrates from sweets or chocolates, as well as more nutrients do not act, the blood glucose level drops too low. As a result, within 20-30 minutes, we feel weakness, dizziness can even begin.
It is better to snack not on sweets, but on fruits and bread: in addition to glucose, they contain pectin, starch and fiber, which maintain optimal blood sugar levels for a long time.
4. Clothes in dark colors. Many people prefer to wear black. This color is slimming, but does not add vivacity. Scientists have found that at receptions where it is customary to appear in tuxedos and dark dresses, guests get tired twice as fast as at informal parties.
Feeling like a squeezed lemon? Choose red clothes – it will energize you. Are you spending your energy too actively, excited, overwhelmed? Wear blue or green – these colors immerse you in calmness and serenity. Tired of talking to clients and family? Pay attention to the beige and light brown range – it exudes warmth, trust and friendliness.
5. Overweight. According to recent research, excess body weight, especially if you gain it quickly, leads to asthenia. Due to the protruding belly, overweight people have a shifted center of gravity and impaired posture, so they quickly get tired.
6. The habit of doing several things at once. Experts do not advise reading a book and watching a football match at the same time, viewing documents and keeping up a conversation, talking on the phone and watching TV. This is very tiring for the nervous system. Don’t know where to start? Get an organizer. Sometimes it’s enough to make a list of necessary things and mark what has been done in order to stay alert and full of energy.
7. Smoking. Nicotine constricts blood vessels, impairs blood supply to tissues and causes oxygen starvation. The result is fatigue. Some experts do not undertake to treat smokers for asthenia at all, because they consider it a waste of their money and their time.
8. Driving trips. Uncomfortable posture, visual and nervous tension, monotonous actions, endless traffic jams are very tiring. Symptoms of driver fatigue are dull eyes, slow reactions, absent-mindedness, forgetfulness.
