7-year-old boy became a pilot and dedicated the first flight to his mother, who died of cancer

The story of the boy Jacob from England proves that it is extremely important for us to believe in ourselves and not forget about our own dreams. When it is especially difficult for us, the desire to realize our plans helps to stay afloat and find new meanings in life.

7-year-old Jacob from Leeds, Yorkshire has become the youngest pilot in the UK. He made his first flight under instructor Mark Green along with his father Andrew. Jakob’s dad is afraid of flying, but he overcame himself to support the boy. When the instructor allowed him to take control of the Piper PA-28 Cherokee, Jacob was not at all taken aback.

Jakob’s father said that his wife Andrea, who died last year, was also partial to aviation. She attended an RAF airshow during her pregnancy and they laughed hard at the time: Jakob would kick in the stomach every time a plane passed over them.

When the boy was very young, his parents bought him a pilot suit. As he grew older, his interest in aviation increased – he was even known to raise funds online for various charities, in particular, for the Royal Air Force Charitable Foundation. Then many private pilots invited him to fly with them as a passenger.

Initially, the family planned that Jacob would be accompanied by his mother during training and during flights, but life made its own adjustments. Shortly after Andrea’s death, the boy announced that he was ready for classes. He admitted that he wants to dedicate his first flight to his mother.

Then dad simply had no choice: he had to support his son and at the same time overcome his phobia. “I was very scared, but when I saw the joy on my son’s face, I immediately forgot about everything. I think this flight brought us even closer. I’m so happy to see his achievements – his mom would be very proud of him, ”he says.

I would like to believe that this brave boy who knows how to dream has a great future and that he and his dad will continue to support each other and make dreams come true, and their love of life and courage will become an example for many.
