1. Severe fatigue
Do not be surprised if you want to arrange a quiet hour for yourself in the middle of the day, and go to rest again by 8 pm. During the first trimester, many women feel very tired.
There is a lot of metabolic work going on in the body, so it needs a lot of rest. Do not be heroic trying to overfulfill the plan. Listen to your body and rest when you feel you need it.
2. The chest is huge and hurts
Get ready for the fact that your bras will suddenly become small, and your breasts will begin to ache even from light touches. All of this is due to the surge in hormones.
During the first trimester, progesterone levels rise, which makes the breasts very painful and sensitive (you should warn your spouse about this). It will be easier in the second trimester, but now you should look for new underwear for good breast support. You don’t have to buy expensive bras from the moms department. Take a closer look at sports underwear.
3. Constipation and bloating have begun
And again, progesterone is to blame, which slows down the motility of the colon and intestines. Bloating develops and gets worse towards the end of the day, and it becomes more difficult to go to the bathroom. To spend less time in the ladies’ room, drink more water and lean on fiber. However, if the constipation is severe and frequent, it is worth informing your gynecologist about it.
4. Nausea
And not only in the morning, but throughout the day. Some people are more sensitive to the “pregnancy hormone” hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is responsible for morning sickness. But usually, with the end of the first trimester, the nausea subsides. In the meantime, you can make life easier with ginger tea or ginger candies. In addition, doctors advise eating small meals throughout the day.
5. Craving for one food and aversion to another
And again hormones, due to which the appetite is heightened. But at the same time, certain foods can be disgusting.
Some scientists believe that craving for one food and aversion to another during pregnancy reflects the energy needs of the growing fetus. In other words, your body craves what it needs. Therefore, if the kid inside suddenly wants ice cream, do not deny him this.
6. Thick discharge appears
A thick, milky-white discharge, or leucorrhea, is a common symptom of pregnancy. Discharge appears due to the high level of estrogen, which is especially strong in the early stages of pregnancy. “Pregnancy hormones” increase cervical mucus and vaginal discharge. In addition, the increased blood flow to the pelvic region stimulates the mucous membranes of the body. Normal discharge is usually pasty, clear to whitish, and odorless. However, if an unpleasant odor appears, and the discharge is green or yellow, you need to inform your doctor about it.
7. Constantly want to use the toilet
Frequent urination is normal, even during early pregnancy. In anticipation of a child, the volume of blood in the body, which is filtered by the kidneys, greatly increases. This means more urine is produced.
And without this in any way?
There are happy pregnant women who experience no symptoms at all in the first trimester. Don’t worry about this. If you are feeling great, this is a sign of a very healthy pregnancy. Consider yourself lucky.
