Your life will never be the same again. A few simple things can turn your home into a fairy tale – and even your mother-in-law won’t pick on it.
“How is it that Polina’s always clean, no matter how you come in. And I have to clean up all weekends to put things in order, ”a friend complains. Yes, for some reason it happens: for some, the house looks like a picture made of gloss, while for others it is as if someone was leaving the chase here. Or fought the Dementors.
You can find any number of excuses. Most importantly, there is not enough time for anything. And those people whose houses are always clean, probably just do nothing else and do not do anything other than lick the apartment to shine. Or not?
In fact, in order to suddenly turn into the goddess of cleanliness and tidiness, you do not need to constantly wash and rub something. It is enough to follow these 7 simple rules.
1. Make the bed
Got out of bed – lay it down. Yes, just like that right away. An exception is if you have a day off or a sick leave and you got up just to immediately return to the gentle captivity of pillows and blankets. Otherwise, please be so kind. It’s actually very quick – throw on a blanket and run your hand a couple of times to smooth out the wrinkles.
2. Remove the dishes from the dishwasher
Also in the morning. While the coffee is brewing, it is quite possible to have time to arrange the plates and forks in their places. In the evening, after dinner, an empty and ready-to-use dishwasher will be waiting for you – it’s nice. But if you do not have a dishwasher, you will have to spend another 10 minutes and wash the dishes right away. Golden rule: never leave dishes for later. Try to follow it for at least a week and see how your life will be fabulously transformed.
3. Erase on schedule
Take a couple of days a week to do the laundry and never skip them. Kill two birds with one stone: the laundry will not accumulate – this is the first thing. Secondly, you will never be left without linen of the right color, clean towels or socks.
4. Use baskets
For every little thing, for keys, for a hairdryer and curlers in the bathroom, for anything. When there is room for things, the clutter of the room is dramatically reduced. Chargers, pens, catalogs, hairpins folded into a basket look much neater than chaotically scattered wherever necessary. Especially if you put the basket on the shelf, in general, beauty will turn out.
5. Don’t put it off
This rule applies not only to dirty dishes. Take out the trash, throw out the packaging as soon as the purchase is taken out of it, wipe spilled tea or crumbs from the table. Any spontaneous disorder must be declared war immediately, before the petty chaos turns into a catastrophe. The kitchen will always look clean if the traces of cooking are destroyed immediately, without waiting for everyone to have dinner. And you do not have to waste time the next day, wiping off frozen fat or dried food residues from the stove and pots.
6. Undress – take off your clothes
Many sin by the fact that when they come home from work, they throw off their street clothes wherever they have to. “Hanging carefully on the floor” – that is how it is called in the bachelor language. It will take you only half a minute to bring the shirt to the washing machine, and the jacket to the closet, and there will be much less clutter.
7. Plan ahead
Housekeeping is a routine. And it is quite possible to systematize it. Today we wipe the windows, tomorrow we wash the floor and wipe the dust, the day after tomorrow we clean the plumbing and tidy up the bathroom, then we wash and iron the linen. If you have a schedule, you will never “suddenly” run out of cleaning supplies, and your apartment will not become cluttered.
