7 cleaning mistakes that keep your house dirty all the time

We bet there are some things you haven’t even thought about!

With the onset of heat, we increasingly open windows to ventilate the apartment. This means that it quickly becomes dusty. A day or two of absence of cleaning, and your rooms, kitchen ceases to be a paradise filled with cleanliness and fragrance. How can you avoid this? We tell you about the mistakes that you probably make when cleaning up the apartment.

1. Surface cleaning

Many people do not want to fiddle with a rag and a basin under beds and bedside tables for a long time in order to get the accumulated dust out of there. Therefore, you can brush off the dirt with a cloth, as they say, for visibility. However, this is fraught not only with the rapid pollution of the apartment, but also with the appearance of saprophyte dust mites. If you are going to put your home in order, then do it thoroughly. Be sure to wipe under and over furniture, window sills and chandeliers. Perform a high-quality wet cleaning at least once a month.

2. Dirty curtains

Sometimes the curtains seem to stay clean for years. However, this is deceiving. They, like sofas and carpets, are the main dust collectors. Therefore, it is recommended to wash them every three months. And by the way, there are ways to keep them clean longer – for example, using hairspray.

3. Old things

Unnecessary things also create a cycle of dust in the apartment. Materialism and hoarding are the main enemies of cleanliness in an apartment. Therefore, it is necessary to revise the wardrobe twice a year. If the thing no longer fits in size, and within five years you have not found use for it, then rather get rid of it. Do the same with other things that you haven’t used for a long time.

4. Kitchen cabinets

Yes, once a week you need to wash the sink, clean the stove, wipe the table and change the dish sponges. But only this is not enough! Over the months, a lot of dust has accumulated in cabinets and on shelves. Therefore, once every two months, it is necessary to sort out the contents of the kitchen set: throw away spilled spices, eliminate old medicines. Also check cereals and dried fruits for small parasites. Train yourself to store bulk products in tightly closed jars.

5. One rag for everything

If you wipe all surfaces with one rag, then microbes will wander from one place to another. For example, from the kitchen to the bathroom and vice versa. Such an attitude can lead to complete unsanitary conditions with visible cleanliness – not for long and catch the virus. After each use, rinse a rag in soapy water, and keep a separate one for each purpose: bathroom, countertop, dust.

6. Shaking the rugs out the window

You will definitely not be saved by this method, because all the dust flies back to you. After that, you will find that your face, windowsill and even the floor are covered in dust and sand. So close to problems with the skin and respiratory tract.

7. Lack of habit

Few will be pleased to discover the impending chaos a few days after the painful cleaning. Psychologists recommend forming a habit of maintaining cleanliness. If you have removed a thing, then hang it in the closet; had lunch in the kitchen – immediately wash the dishes and wipe the table; as soon as the garbage has accumulated, do not be too lazy to take it out. At first you will suffer. After a week or two, these actions will become a habit, if not pleasant, then painless. In addition, you will not only improve your life, but also structure your thoughts.
