Facing technical problems? Sometimes the problem is easy to fix with your own hands, and our article will help with this. Let’s analyze the errors of HIBERG dishwashers, as well as their meanings. You will understand why the PMM fails in order to avoid such troubles in the future.
How are HIBERG fault codes deciphered?
When the Hyberg dishwasher for some reason refuses to start a given program or does not perform a certain function, a malfunction code may appear on the display. Modern machines have a built-in self-diagnosis system that starts automatically when a malfunction occurs. When a problem is detected, symbols are displayed on the display, allowing you to quickly determine the cause and eliminate the breakdown.
The panel on which the indicators flash is located at the end of the door
Here is the meaning of each for the F48 1030W and F68 1430W models:
- E1 – no water enters the bunker. The inlet valve is probably closed, there is no water, the hose, filter are clogged, the valve is faulty.
- E3 – problems with heating. It is worth checking the heating element and temperature sensor.
- E4 – a leak has occurred. The reason may be loose connections, tank overflow, damage to the chamber, loss of tightness of the seal.
- E8 (typical for the F68 1430W model) – malfunction of the zone selection controller. Contact the service center.
Not all cars signal a breakdown with codes on the scoreboard. For example, the F46 920W model starts flashing indicators, which notify you of a problem. What does this signal mean?
- The Rapid light blinks quickly. The message indicates problems with the water inlet.
- The Glass indicator flashes quickly. This means that there is a leak in the car.
- The Rapid and 90 min lights are flashing, indicating a heating problem.
But not always the codes report a malfunction of the nodes. Sometimes the cause is a system failure and a reboot of the equipment can fix the error. How to restart PMM:
- Unplug the machine.
- Wait 10-15 minutes.
- Plug in the socket.
If, after switching on, the code is displayed again on the display, proceed to troubleshooting. But first, get acquainted with the malfunctions that are also typical for HIBERG brand models.
Causes of breakdowns of the Hyberg dishwasher
Most of the problems that users encounter are due to operational errors. Serious breakdowns can occur after a few years of using the equipment, and factory defects are also possible. In the latter case, the problem manifests itself in the early stages, so do not disassemble, but inform the service center.
The master will inspect the PMM, and if the fact of marriage is confirmed, then the store will return the money or exchange the dishwasher. If the warranty is no longer valid, then consider the causes and signs of breakdowns.
- The machine does not turn on. The problem may be in a damaged power cord, plug or socket. The fuse may have blown or the hopper door may not be properly closed. There may also be technical problems, such as low pressure in the pipes or incorrectly connected hoses.
- The water does not drain from the tank. Hose kinked, filter or siphon clogged.
There is liquid in the pan
- After washing, there was foam in the compartment. The detergent has not been selected correctly.
- Poor dishwashing. The problem is in the arrangement of devices, blockages in the filter and rocker arms.
- Dishes don’t dry well. The reason is a lack of time or rinse aid, an incorrectly selected program.
Repair of a malfunction is possible with skill and understanding of the dishwasher. It is important to be careful and first disconnect the equipment from the mains and water supply. Below we will analyze how to fix problems with your own hands.
Water does not enter the PMM
Immediately it is necessary to exclude problems that are not related to breakdowns. Check:
- The presence of water in the tap. Maybe today is preventive maintenance?
- Is the supply valve open. It is located on the pipe and serves for protection. At the time of leakage, you can quickly turn off the water. Rotate it to the open position.
- What condition is the intake hose in? If it is twisted, squashed, then return it to its normal position.
Why is the machine not taking water? One of the common problems is the clogging of the mesh filter, which stands between the intake hose and the PMM body. Due to the hardness of city water and the high content of impurities, the mesh is quickly clogged with scale and small debris.
How to fix the problem:
- Shut off the water supply.
- Disconnect the intake hose from the PMM body.
- Pull out the mesh filter using pliers.
Mesh cleaning
- Rinse under a faucet.
If desired, you can install an additional filtration system. Such devices already contain salt inside, which reduces the amount of impurities, and as a result, the number of blockages.
Waste fluid does not go down the drain
In this case, also start cleaning the parts from food debris and fat deposits. The drainage system in HIBERG dishwashers consists of three filters:
- main;
- rough cleaning (detains large objects);
- fine cleaning (for dirt and small debris).
To clean the elements, follow the instructions:
- Pull up on the lid handle.
- Turn counterclockwise and remove the filter.
Placement of the filter in the pan
- Clean and flush out debris.
Important! Do not knock the filter and make strong efforts to clean it. Parts may bend, and the functioning of the PMM will be impaired.
Clean the system after each wash, otherwise the quality of the removal of contaminants will decrease, and hard parts will enter the pump impeller. An example of cleaning is shown in the video:
It is also worth checking the drain hose, sewer or siphon for clogging. Remember that the hose should not be too high, otherwise draining problems may occur and the pump will wear out faster.
PMM won’t turn on
The dishwasher does not work and does not respond to pressing? If the electricity is OK, test the outlet by plugging in another appliance. Also check the integrity of the power cord. Even slight damage to the insulation requires immediate replacement of the cord.
The cause of the problem may be frayed or oxidized wiring. All PMM nodes are connected by wires to the control module. It is necessary to disassemble the machine and check the wiring. The power button should be pressed normally, without sticking or dips.
Electronic board
The video shows the problems and their solutions:
The most serious problem occurs with the main module. Only the master can perform its diagnostics, as well as repairs. The electronic board fails when moisture, detergents, power surges in the network get in.
No heating
Before looking for a breakdown, exclude the following factors:
- Incorrect dishwasher connection. When the machine constantly takes and drains water, the heating element simply does not have time to heat it. Therefore, it is important to connect according to the instructions, but it is better to entrust the master of the service center.
- Wrong mode. Make sure that the program is set to high heating temperature.
- Filter blockage. This reduces the circulation of water, which is why the heating slows down. Clean the part after every wash.
The above examples do not apply to your PMM? Then you have to look for the problem. Check the heating element and temperature sensor. Here’s what to do:
- Disconnect the equipment from the network and communications.
- Turn over so that access to the bottom opens.
Upside down dishwasher
- Remove the bottom panel.
- In the pump assembly, you will notice the heating element.
This is what the heater looks like.
- Disconnect its hoses and wires, remove from the housing.
- There is also a temperature sensor next to the heating element.
Parts are inspected and replaced if broken. The heating element often suffers from scale. To prevent it from burning out, periodically run a blank wash with citric acid.
Water on the floor
Inspect the body of the equipment to understand where the leak came from. If leaks are visible at the rear wall, check the hose connections and tighten tighter.
Leakage from under the door needs to be checked:
- The tightness of the door to the body. Perhaps the door warped due to improper installation or damage to the springs. Faulty items need to be replaced.
- Seal around the perimeter of the door. Rubber could lose tightness or deform. Replacing it is simple: remove the old seal and install a new one in the grooves.
Replacing the seal
Leakage can happen from an excess of foam in the hopper. Change the detergent or add less.
Poor washing and drying results
No wonder the consumer is given instructions along with the equipment. But not everyone follows it. Of course, the cause of such problems can be not only operational errors, but also breakdowns of the circulation pump and other components.
First of all, do this:
- Check the drain filter for blockage.
- Arrange dishes correctly.
Correct arrangement of devices
- Set a high temperature program.
- Add rinse aid to the compartment and add salt to the reservoir.
- After the end of the cycle, open the door slightly and release the steam. Then empty the lower basket so that water from the upper basket does not get on the dishes.
Clean the rocker arms. From the holes (nozzles) water flies under pressure into the bunker. Over time, the nozzles also become clogged, you can clean them yourself:
- Remove the upper rocker arm by grasping the nut and turning clockwise.
- Pull the lower spray up.
- Wash the parts in soapy water, and remove the dirt from the holes with a toothpick.
Put the elements back in place. From now on, make sure that the rotation of the rocker arms is not blocked by dishes. Distribute cutlery correctly, do not place plates too tightly. Then the jets of water will normally clean the surface.
Now you are convinced that most of the problems are related to errors in operation. So be careful and follow the instructions. Let our recommendations help restore the work of your equipment.
