Briefly about the drink

Violet liqueur or “Parfait d’Amour” has a peculiar sweet taste and purple color.

From the French “Parfait d’Amour” means “Perfect love”, at one time the drink was to the taste of ladies from high society, and later the fame of “a drink for lovers” was attached to the liquor.

The main ingredients of violet liqueur are: citrus fruits, rose petals, violets, vanilla, less often coriander, lemon, almonds are used. This explains the similarity of taste with Cointreau and Triple Sec.

Giffard Perfect Love

The original liqueur in a very unusual bottle in retro style. It is noteworthy that Bitter Truth Violet Liqueur is made from violet flowers and roots added to the best neutral alcohol. This drink surprises with a delicate and elegant aroma of a fragile flower, and classic cocktails such as Aviation, Blue Moon and Violet Fizz can now be prepared according to the original recipe.

Joseph Cartron Violette

Violet liqueur from the French manufacturer Joseph Cartron. This drink was first released in 2016, although Cartron has been in business since 1882.

The liquor is flavored with violets imported from Egypt, which are made into essential oils and a paste. The paste is diluted with neutral alcohol and slowly distilled at low pressure so as not to damage the delicate aroma of the violet. Then crystallized sugar is added, which reduces the strength of the drink and makes it sweeter.

Liquor has a characteristic purple hue.

Marie Brizard Perfect Love

Positioned as a liqueur for classic cocktails. It has a purple color with a sweet and round taste with hints of candied almonds, rose petals and vanilla. Liquor has a characteristic spicy and floral aroma.

The main shades of the palette are vanilla, chocolate, rose. The lingering aftertaste is dominated by notes of milk chocolate, flowers and orange peel. It is distinguished by a lilac-burgundy color that is non-standard for Parfait Amour.

Alcohol: 30% by volume.

A variation of violet liqueur from a well-known alcohol brand.

Not the best option for drinking in its pure form. Suitable for cocktails, but cannot recommend it for your bar.
