Daisy
A type of cocktail that may include the following ingredients: strong alcohol, liquor, syrup, lemon juice and mineral (or soda) water. A characteristic feature of such drinks is a reddish color. Examples: Brandy Daisy, Vodka Daisy, (Bourbon Daisy, etc.) The term also applies to non-alcoholic cocktails.
Daisy-type drinks are served in highball, in most cases, with crushed ice.
Julep (Julep – sweet drink)
A type of cocktail consisting of hard alcohol, sugar syrup, mint liqueur/fresh mint leaves and mineral (or soda) water as desired. Examples: Gin Julep, Rum Julep, and the legendary Mint Julep. Also widely distributed are various mint non-alcoholic variations on the theme of J.
Drinks of this type are served in a highball with crushed ice.
Cardinal
A type of cocktail consisting of equal amounts of strong alcohol and liquor. Examples: “White Spider”, “Centaur”, “Red Lion”.
When using ice, K. is served in a tumbler. If ice is not provided in the drink, it is served in a cocktail glass.
Коблер (Cobbler)
A type of cocktail made with wine or spirits. May contain various liqueurs, syrups, juices, as well as fresh fruits and berries. Examples: Classic Sherry Cobbler, Cahors Cobbler, Whiskey Cobbler, etc. There is also a non-alcoholic version of the drink.
Kobler is served in a collins glass with crushed ice, a cocktail straw and a teaspoon. A glass, as a rule, is richly decorated with berries and fruits.
Collins
A type of cocktail containing strong unsweetened alcohol, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and soda (or mineral) water. Examples of K .: textbook (Tom Collins), rum “Pedro Collins”, “Vodka Collins”, “Irish Collins”, etc.
The drink is served in a glass of the same name with crushed ice.
Chaser (Chaser – pursuer)
A non-alcoholic or low-alcohol drink that is washed down with a strong (usually smooth) shot. Classic examples of a chaser are: cola after whiskey, sangrita after tequila, beer after vodka.
