5 tips to relieve the eyes after crying

Tears can be caused as a result of a happy or sad emotion, in front of a particularly touching spectacle and in the face of strong stress. But we may wish to hide those tears and make sure that no one realizes that we have cried. There are a few tips for this. We have selected five for you.
1. Pass your eyes under water
When you’ve cried a lot, your eyes are swollen. This is especially the case when we fall asleep with tears. The next morning it shows on the face. To avoid any hint of grief, we advise you to rinse your eyes with cold water. If the eyes do not deflate, run them under hot water and then again under cold water.
If you have ice cubes on hand, put a few in a tea towel and apply them to your eyes for a few moments. As the temperature changes, your eyes should quickly deflate.
2. Alternatives to water
If, however, the water or temperature change is not enough, we advise you to prepare a green tea. Once well infused, let cool for about ten minutes then plunge cotton tea into your tea and apply it to your eyes. You will stay lying down with your cottons over your eyes for a few minutes. You can also apply the tea bags directly to your eyes, but be careful to let them cool.
If you have cornflower water or rose water, do not hesitate to put a few drops on a cotton ball and pat your eyes with it.. The soothing virtues of these two waters could work miracles. Some will advise you to place two slices of cucumber over your eyes, still others slices of potatoes. But we recommend that you stick to the simpler methods.
3. Applying makeup
To hide your tears even better, after having spent your eyes underwater, make up yourself a little more heavily than usual. If you have a dark circles corrector, put it under the eyes to erase the redness. You will then apply eye shadow or black pencil to your eyelid, which you will blend with a cotton swab. Also put a little black pencil above the lower eyebrow, to hide the redness of the eyes. A little mascara and you’re done.
If you have foundation, do not hesitate to put some on the cheeks, which will appear less dull and sad. Finally to finish, a little touch of pink blush on the cheekbones if you have.
4. Take the time to calm down
Before confronting people who shouldn’t know you’ve been crying, take the time to calm down. Breathe deeply so that any urge to sob goes away. Crying is triggered by a strong emotion and this emotion must be evacuated to avoid any risk of new crying.
To be sure that you relax and erase the traces of crying on your face, sit in a chair, let your head rest. By maintaining this position for a few minutes, you will be able to significantly relax your face. If necessary, hum some soothing music.
5. Do not rub your eyes with a tissue
The stupid thing to do is rub your eyes after you cry with his hands or with a handkerchief. If you are wearing makeup, you will spread your makeup and it will be even more difficult to hide the tears. Either way, you will make your eyes look even redder. With a tissue, very gently wipe your tears under your eyes, without exerting any pressure. And don’t blow your nose too hard!
