5 things to know about dust mites
How to get rid of dust mites?
Since dust mites are fond of humidity and heat, it is strongly recommended to ventilate each room for at least 30 minutes every day, and not to heat them above 20 ° C. The maintenance of bedding is also essential to prevent this risk of allergy. Synthetic slatted bases and duvets come highly recommended, and there are even dust mite covers. Once a week, the sheets should be washed at 60 ° C, and the openings and duvets at least once a month. There are also natural solutions to eliminate dust mites. First of all, there are essential oils (lilac, neem seeds, tea tree, lemon, eucalyptus and lavender) that can be applied directly to your bedding or that you can make sprays. Baking soda is also used to fight dust mites1. Indeed, the latter would be a powerful acaricide and would kill all the mites in two hours. You can sprinkle it on your mattress and pillows, for example.
