5 things that should be in the perfect bedroom
Interior preferences are different for everyone. However, there is still something in common. Almost everyone, without exception, loves to sleep well.
Admit it, you’ve probably dreamed at least once in your life to get to your favorite bedroom and climb into your equally favorite bed. This moment became the best of the day. But for this you need a really comfortable – even from the point of view of feng shui, even from the point of view of human biology – a bedroom. Let’s figure out, together with an expert, how to create one.
Correct color
Color therapy appeared in the XNUMXth century BC and has proven its effectiveness over many centuries. Hippocrates believed that by wearing clothes of a certain color or taking a bath with colored water, physical ailments can be cured. Modern experts agree that color has an effect on the psychological state of a person. It can promote relaxation, or, conversely, invigorate.
Of course, taste preferences play an important role in decorating the interior, but before painting the walls in bright colors with contrasting patterns, think twice. It is best to use pastel colors. For example, a muted blue is relaxing and philosophical. Green promotes pacification, but it is important that it is a soft shade: pistachio, for example, and not with a lemon undertone. Pastel yellow gives a sense of peace, comfort and happiness. If you lack passion in a relationship, you can take a chance and paint the bedroom walls red. It has a stimulating effect, improves tone and sexual energy. But falling asleep in these colors will be difficult. Avoid purple and orange tones: they provoke vigorous activity, tune in to a working mood.
Natural materials
Wood, stone, linen and cotton fabrics, silk and wool – it is desirable that natural materials prevail in the bedroom. Why? It’s all about energy. If you believe the Taoist teachings of Feng Shui, energy permeates everything around. And it is important for us that energy flows have a positive effect on us. A stone or a tree brings us closer to nature, sources, and therefore gives peace and tranquility. Furniture should be chosen from natural wood, and the walls should be painted with eco-friendly paint. And by all means put a couple of pots with plants in the bedroom: the fact that they “breathe” your oxygen at night is just a myth. But they really add coziness.
But plastic and cheap furniture made of chipboard, which emit not the most useful substances into the air, should be less.
Comfortable bed
First of all, you should decide on the place where the bed will stand. According to feng shui rules, it should not be in front of the front door: this is associated in Chinese culture with death. You can arrange the bed diagonally, but from the point of view of practicality, this is not the best option. It is also undesirable for the bed to be headboard to the window. All the same feng shui claims that in this case a person will be prone to aggression and irritability. The bed itself should be wide so that you feel comfortable and relaxed. The best material is wood, it carries the energy of tranquility and harmony.
Good mattress
The most important point, because the feeling during sleep depends on the mattress. There are many things to consider: from weight to age. For example, the higher the weight, the harder the mattress should be, and vice versa. Hard mattresses are suitable for children, and softer mattresses for older people. The ideal solution is a medium firm mattress that will suit most people of all ages.
Pay attention to the filling of the mattress: it must not cause allergies. Before buying a mattress, it is advisable to test it; many sellers provide this option. A high-quality mattress over time takes the shape of the human body and supports it, which helps relieve tension from the spine. Low-quality sleep products can deform over time, and this will certainly affect your back.
Lights and curtains
Lighting in the bedroom should set you up for relaxation, create an atmosphere of relaxation. In addition to central lighting, it is also important to have local lighting – next to the bed. Look for models with closed, matte shades and glare-free surfaces. Ideally, you should install switches with dimming. Use lamps with moderately warm, diffused light, and avoid cold sources that activate the brain.
When choosing curtains, it is better to give preference to opaque models. The fact is that melatonin is necessary for good rest and quality sleep. Bright light destroys this hormone, which can lead to insomnia.
