5 tablespoons – diet for beginners
A diet of 5 tablespoons is one of the popular weight loss methods that allows you to lose weight without harming your health. Despite certain restrictions imposed by this technique, it is easy and comfortable to lose weight using it.
Since overweight is often caused by an excessive amount of food consumed, the task of this diet is to accustom the body to saturate with that volume, which is quite enough to satisfy physiological needs, moving away from the habits of gluttony. This amount is 5 tablespoons, approximately equal in volume to one glass. That is how much food fits into a normal-sized stomach without stretching it.
The principles of the diet are quite simple:
- No more than 5 tablespoons or 15 teaspoons of any food are consumed per meal
- You can eat as many times a day as you want, but not more often than every three hours
- Liquid is not included in the volume of food, that is, after a portion of 5 tablespoons, you can easily drink a glass of water or tea, but without sugar
- Salt and sugar are not prohibited, but their amount should be kept to a minimum.
You can measure the volume of solid foods in accordance with their mass: if there is about 200 g in one apple, then this is the portion that can be eaten at one time
The food ration for this diet is compiled arbitrarily, based on their own tastes and preferences. But at the same time, it should be remembered that the general rules of dietetics apply to this method of losing weight, because if you really want to get rid of extra pounds, then obviously harmful foods with a high content of fat or sugar should be excluded.
An approximate menu may look like this, while the volume of each serving should not exceed 5 tablespoons:
- for breakfast – oatmeal in milk with a minimum amount of sugar
- for lunch – one small apple or banana
- for lunch – pilaf with chicken
- for an afternoon snack – a glass of yogurt
- for dinner – vegetable or fruit salad
It is difficult to adhere to such a volume of food for the first week, but then the volume of the stomach decreases, and eating such an amount of food becomes a habit
Weight is lost especially intensively in the first week, when you can easily part with 4–5 kg. Then the body gradually gets used to it and the losses decrease, but even in this case, during the second and subsequent weeks, you can lose weight by 2-3 kg per week. If this speed seems too slow, you can remove one of the meals, for example the evening meal, and then the weight will go away faster. Reviews about this diet are mostly positive, it is not for nothing that it is actively promoted by many nutritionists. But it is especially pleasing that, in essence, the technique is more reminiscent of a healthy diet, and not a rigid diet, so you can follow it for as long as you like.
