So the New Year’s fireworks rumbled, the salads were eaten and all the gifts were received … But in Russia there is a wonderful tradition – to celebrate the old New Year! Here again is an occasion to meet with friends and have a good time.
But we don’t seem to have a tradition of giving gifts for the old New Year, and it’s not very good to go to visit empty-handed. I think that on such a holiday you can give alcohol. But to create a festive mood, the gift must be beautifully packaged.
What alcohol to choose as a gift
Both New and Old New Years are primarily associated with sparkling wine. Universal option – semi-sweet or semi-dry:

Is it possible to give alcohol without packaging
It’s not the case to give a bottle like that, without packaging. Even with the factory box, it will look like you ran into the store at the last moment. To feel the soul in a gift, it needs to be beautifully decorated.

The stores sell special bags according to the size of the bottle: from kraft paper, bright foil cardboard, felt. Plain or with a bright pattern, with ribbon or rope handles, New Year’s or just smart

5 ideas for the original design of alcohol
I respect the craftsmen who are able to create a truly original thing out of tinsel, ribbons and various trifles. I’ll tell you about the ideas that impressed me.
1. Christmas tree, she is champagne – the most old New Year’s gift. It is done simply: sweets are attached to the bottle with a glue gun, the free space is closed with shiny tinsel using double-sided tape. Tie a bow on top and the Christmas tree is ready. The composition near the neck will not close the entire bottle, leaving the label in plain sight.
You can attach jewelry to a ring cut out of a plastic bottle, then the decor can be easily removed before opening the wine. For those who are on a diet, sweets are replaced with shiny balls, spruce branches and cones.
2. I really liked the knitted bags for bottles, with pigtails and other embossed patterns. I don’t know how to knit, but I can cut off the sleeve from a sweater. At the neck, tie with a ribbon, sew on buttons – concisely and very stylishly, in winter.
3. It will require the ability to sew rather than knit. Or glue. The stock of New Year’s felt hats allows a couple to be put under the knife, or rather under the scissors. Make tiny hats for bottles.
You can limit yourself to them, or you can tie a scarf, glue a beard, nose. Wrap with a strip of red felt, make buttons, gird with a belt with a characteristic Santa Claus buckle. The options are endless until you run out of felt.
4. An easy and catchy option: cover the bottle with glue and sprinkle with confetti. Let dry, shake off what is not stuck, glue the bald spots. By tradition, a bow on the neck, it turns out very elegantly. I also learned a new word “glitter”, these are sparkles, which can be used to cover the surface of a bottle in the same way.
5. Wrap the bottle with crepe paper, randomly wrap it with a narrow ribbon on top. If you pick up a contrasting braid, it looks like a pattern. Put a small Christmas wreath on the neck: spruce twigs, small balls, flowers, cones, ribbons. They are easy to assemble on a wire ring, secure with a glue gun.
Now I’m thinking. It’s embarrassing that technology is more feminine. Neither brutal forged curlicues, nor filigree patterns sawn by a grinder. I can surprise, but will everyone correctly appreciate my hand made? Maybe limit yourself to purchased packages?
