5 most important reasons to do yoga

Yoga is becoming more popular every year, for many it is already an integral part of life. Although even 10 years ago, practicing yoga was quite exotic, if my memory serves me. Now yoga is practiced in fitness centers, parks, outdoor classes, etc. The reasons for doing yoga can be listed almost endlessly, so I decided to find out about the most important of them from the author of the Organic people project, a teacher of hatha yoga and, probably, the main yoga of Moscow, Rauf Asadov.

The 5 most important reasons to do yoga, according to Rauf Asadov:

  1. Learn to feel your body

Already after the first lesson, students begin to feel their body differently – they learn about those muscles that they never knew existed, remove spasms (muscle hypertonicity, clamp, block) in the body, thanks to which they realize natural lightness and learn to control their body. And everyone knows that the control of the body is the control of our mind.

  1. Learn to breathe properly

For one reason or another, most people do not breathe correctly, superficially, using only the thoracic region, while it is also necessary to include the stomach in the breathing process. A person’s inhalation should begin from the abdomen – pushing the abdomen outward, the diaphragm drops down and thereby allows the lower lungs to open, and the second half of the inhalation is carried out by the chest, helping to open the upper lungs and thereby fill the entire volume with air. In yoga practice, this is called full yoga breathing, which helps to use the capacity of human lungs not 50%, but 100%! And breathing is our life, so let’s use it as much as it is in the body.

  1. Improve health

A well-tuned practice helps to work out the whole body in a complex way. In particular, remove muscle clamps, in which the movement of blood is impeded, as a result of which the release of toxins that contribute to the development of various diseases is complicated.

Gradually, with regular practice, problems associated with the spine are resolved – scoliosis, intervertebral hernias, etc. This is due to the release of muscle tension in problem areas and the integral strengthening of the muscle frame.

The work of the joints, the circulatory system, and also the internal organs is improved by stimulating their blood supply.

  1. Restore emotional state

The practice of pranayama (breathing exercises) is especially helpful in this, helping to calm the mind, and with it the body. And if you also add asanas (body positions) to this, which allow you to additionally relieve tension in the whole body, then at least the next day you will spend on an elevated wave. So, one day, a month after the start of attending my classes, one student came up with the news that she became calmer and that now Relax.fm is constantly playing in the car.

  1. Remove spasm in the body

As a rule, either for everyday reasons (sedentary lifestyle, constant driving, in the office at the table, etc.) or psychological (fears, psychological trauma, etc.), the body gradually becomes rigid, spasm increases. This gradually leads to the development of diseases of the cardiovascular and circulatory systems, internal organs, joints. Regular yoga practice removes all of these problems.
