5 minutes of very simple stretching to wake up well
Too often we forget to stretch well and yet it is good for both body and soul.
After a long period of inactivity, stretching will unlock your joints and lengthen your muscles, for a gentle awakening.
Exercise to do when you wake up
1/ Stay under the covers and take a deep breath first and then breathe out slowly.
2/ Arms horizontal and legs straight, stretch your limbs as if you wanted to push everything around you with your hands and feet. Repeat several times then do a “check-up” of your limbs by moving them one by one, starting with the toes.
3/ Still lying in your bed with your back flat, bring your bent knees to your chest. Hold this position for 30 seconds and then slowly and gently rock from side to side several times.
4/ Sit down with your back straight. Tilt your head to the left, then to the right, forward and then back. Repeat several times.
5/ Stand up, keep your arms at your sides, and look straight ahead. Your feet should be slightly apart from each other. Slightly lift your heels and hold the position for a few seconds. Rest the heels and now lift the top of the foot. Rest the foot.
6/ Now raise your arms to the sky and join both hands above your head, arms as outstretched as possible, behind the ears. Then curl your chest and pull your stomach in, keeping your arms up, but leaning them back. Slowly exhale as you release.
Remember to always breathe well during these exercises. Do not hesitate to vary these stretches, to innovate, to avoid boredom and to best meet your needs.
And there you are, you are ready for a new day!
