5 common things that are forbidden to do after childbirth

Life will no longer be the same – this is understandable even before the baby is born. But there are still many surprises.

The most amazing miracle in life has happened: childbirth is over, you have become a mother! After nine long months of patient waiting, you have the opportunity to admire that precious, divine gift of nature that you yourself have created. From this moment, a new stage begins – with new emotions and a new perception of oneself.

The first six weeks after childbirth, significant changes occur in the woman’s body, this is a very large load on the body. These are complex physiological processes: hormonal changes, changes in the blood coagulation system, the reverse development of the genitals, the formation of lactation and the adaptation of the female body to new conditions. Therefore, many habitual activities will be under the strictest prohibition.

Sex and bath

Immediately after giving birth, the lining of the uterus is essentially a wound. As this wound heals, the amount and nature of discharge from the uterus (lochia) change. If an infection suddenly occurs, an inflammatory process of the uterine mucosa may begin.

It can be provoked by sexual intercourse, lack of proper hygiene. During the rehabilitation period, you cannot take a bath, swim in the pool or swim on the beaches. In addition, hypothermia should be especially feared.

Pads and tampons

While the discharge continues, sanitary towels should be used and replaced every three hours. But not all gaskets are suitable. Those with flavors should not be used – they provoke allergic reactions.

It is generally better to forget about tampons – they not only prevent the removal of vaginal discharge, but, absorbing them, can cause the multiplication of microorganisms and provoke inflammation. In addition, it is not recommended to wear tight, especially synthetic, underwear.

Diet and weight loss

During the period of breastfeeding, it is absolutely not worth trying any decisive methods of losing weight (strict diets, taking medications, surgical interventions). The main thing is that it is useless, because the weight dropped usually in extreme times returns quickly. The skin becomes loose and saggy. In this case, you can earn endocrine disorders, which then have to be treated for a long time.

Sports and housework

It is necessary to be involved in household chores after childbirth carefully – to literally flow in. No heavy weights, no hard exercise. After childbirth, the ligamentous apparatus of the genital organs and the muscles of the pelvic floor are relaxed, the uterus is very mobile and easily displaced, therefore, heavy physical exertion can lead to the prolapse of the internal genital organs.

Morning coffee

As for eating behavior, nursing mothers do not need any special diet. It is enough, like everyone else, to adhere to the principles of a healthy diet and focus on the manifestations of food allergies in a child. Especially it is worth paying attention to the use of caffeine: most can drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day without significantly affecting the child. However, some children in the first 2-3 months of life are sensitive to caffeine – they become irritable, their sleep is disturbed.

The postpartum state is one of the complex, multifaceted and extremely sensitive conditions in the life of women, which must be treated especially carefully and anxiously, because a healthy and happy mother is the key to the successful development of the child and strong relationships between mother and baby.
