5 Common Ginzzu Dishwasher Faults: Do-It-Yourself Repair

The self-diagnosis function is incorporated in all modern dishwashers. The user does not encounter codes until the machine is running normally. But as soon as a failure occurs, Ginzzu dishwasher errors light up on the screen. Each of them indicates a specific malfunction. It is in your power to return the equipment to normal operation.

The meaning of fault codes and the causes of breakdowns of Ginzzu dishwashers

Your machine was working properly, but this time it did not start and gave an error code on the screen? Do not rush to panic. It’s good that you didn’t have to look for a breakdown yourself, you just need to decipher the characters on the display.

When an error occurs, the indicators on the panel light up.

Here is what the Ginzzu PMM fault codes mean:

  • E1 (Rapid or Quick Wash light flashes). This means that water is not supplied to the tank for a long time. Perhaps the water was turned off, the pressure in the pipes was low, the filter was clogged, or the inlet valve was broken.
  • E4 (90 min program indicator flashes quickly). What does code mean? The dishwasher is full of water. The reason is a leaky filler valve.

When overfilling, close the inlet valve immediately, remove the leak on the floor.

The dishwasher can break down not only for these reasons. To understand that the problem requires repair, you will need to reboot the equipment. If the code then disappears from the screen, then a system failure has occurred. Run the loop again and everything will work.

How to reboot the equipment with your own hands:

  • Disconnect the PMM from the network.
  • Wait 10-15 minutes.
  • Reconnect.
  • Take a look at the screen.

But if the symbols reappear, then you should find and fix the problem yourself. Here are the cases in which Ginzzu machines break down most often:

  • PMM does not turn on. This indicates a blown fuse or a power outage. There may be a problem with the door, which is why it does not fit snugly against the chamber.
  • Water is not draining from the hopper. If liquid remains in the pan after washing, check the condition of the drain hose, drain filter. The impeller of the pump could also be blocked by a foreign object.

The liquid does not merge with the remnants of food

  • Water overheats or does not heat up at all. The reason is the temperature sensor or heating element. In the first case, incorrect operation of the sensor can provoke such problems.
  • Detergent remains in the compartment. The problem is low pressure, clogged nozzles or dispenser holes.
  • Noise during work. Incorrectly loaded dishes knock or the impeller hits the appliances.
  • Dishes don’t wash well. The point is a clogged filter, an impeller, a lack of detergent, an incorrectly selected program.

Why Do Dishwasher Breakages Happen? The reason is both improper operation and poor assembly. Usually, marriage appears in the first stages after purchase, and you can still contact the service center with a guarantee. Also, the quality of water and detergents affects the period of trouble-free use. Maintaining the equipment is also important. Let’s figure out how to deal with the above problems.

Ginzzu Dishwasher Repair

If the dishwasher has served for more than 5 years, then worn components and parts could be the cause of the problem. Remember, while the equipment is under warranty, it is not recommended to engage in self-disassembly. But if there is nothing to lose, pay attention to the basic safety rules:

  • Before starting repairs, disconnect the PMM from the network and communications.
  • Move the machine away from the wall, and remove the built-in appliances from the furniture.
  • Always wear gloves when cleaning drain systems.

Sharp bones and shards of dishes often fall into the drain, so be careful. Below are the problems and their solutions.

Dishwasher won’t turn on

When turned on, the machine does not respond to pressing the buttons, the indication does not light up, and the sink does not start. How to fix the situation:

  • Connect another appliance to the outlet, checking if it is working.
  • Inspect the plug and power cord for damage.
  • Press the start button. It should not sink and stick, otherwise replacement is required.

Also, the problem may be in the network filter. The part is located at the base of the wire.

This is what a noise filter looks like

Open the plastic cover and inspect the filter for burning. Visible damage? Then feel free to change the part. Remember that a blown fuse is just a consequence of a larger problem. The reason for this is power surges in the network, and the filter is the only barrier between the dishwasher electronics and the electrics. To avoid burning the control module, install a voltage stabilizer.

Water is not poured

Water intake not working? The machine started normally, the indicators are on, but the cycle does not start. How to troubleshoot:

  • Make sure there is water at the tap.
  • Turn the intake valve.
  • Examine the intake hose. It should lie flat with no folds.

Also press the hopper door tighter. Sometimes with a strong bang, the locking device is blocked. Until the module receives a door lock signal, the wash will not start. Do this:

  • Open the door.

At the top of the chamber is a tongue

  • Take a flathead screwdriver.
  • At the base of the washing chamber is a tongue.
  • Push it inward with a screwdriver until you hear a click.

The lock is removed, you can use the machine. Try to close the chamber gently without letting go of the door abruptly.

Check the mesh filter for blockage, which occurs as a result of the accumulation of debris and rust from the water supply. The element is installed at the inlet to the PMM, between the hose and the inlet valve. The problem is easily solved:

  • Close the inlet valve.
  • Disconnect the hose from the housing.

Mesh is visible in the body

  • Remove the filter with pliers and rinse under the tap from debris.

Fluid won’t drain from tank

A similar problem is divided into two categories: drain blockage is caused by operational errors or a malfunction of one of the nodes. Listen, can you hear the sounds of the pump? If yes, then the node is working and it is worth checking:

  • Drain filter. Take the baskets out of the bin. Scroll through the filter, remove, clean from debris. Next, remove the mesh and wash with water and soapy water using a brush. Be careful not to damage the parts with a strong impact.
  • Pump impeller. Put on gloves, sponge to remove the remaining liquid from the mounting hole. Pull on the cover and remove it. Clear the impeller of debris.

The video will help to cope with the problem:

The drain is clogged with food debris, napkins, fat deposits. Take care of your equipment in a timely manner to avoid such problems. For this:

  • Remove leftover food from appliances.
  • Clean the filter after every wash.
  • Once a week, set an idle program with a high temperature.
  • Once a month, clean with citric acid or soda, removing plaque and deposits in the PMM chamber.

Detergent is not washed out of the compartment

Does the tablet or powder remain in the hopper even after washing is completed? First of all, check if the department is functioning normally. Make sure the system has good water pressure and inspect the nozzles. These small holes are on the impellers that spray water into the chamber. If the nozzles are clogged with scale or food, then it is understandable why the detergent remains in place.

This problem also serves as an answer when dishes are poorly washed from dirt. Here’s what to do:

  • Pull and remove the lower impeller.
  • Turn the top impeller nut, pull down.
  • Inspect the mounting holes for blockage.
  • Clean the jets with a toothpick.
  • Wash the parts with soapy water and warm water.

Remember to properly arrange the dishes in the baskets in order to achieve a quality level of washing. Leave space between the plates, make sure that they do not interfere with the rotation of the impellers.

Heating problems

If overheated, some dishes may deteriorate during washing. When underheated – the quality of washing leaves much to be desired. The thermistor is designed to measure the temperature of the water. As soon as it reaches the values specified by the program, a signal is sent to the module and the operation of the heater stops.

What to do? Repair of a malfunction will not bring results, a complete replacement of broken elements is needed. To get to the heating element and the sensor, disassemble the lower part of the PMM.

  • Turn the body on its side.
  • Remove the bottom panel.
  • If an Aquastop sensor is attached to it, disconnect the wiring.
  • Loosen hose and pipe clamps. Disconnect them from the heating element.

  • Disconnect wires from heater and pump.
  • Turn the pump counterclockwise.

The pump must be disconnected from the heater

  • Take out the heating element.
  • Install a new item.
  • At the same time, replace the temperature sensor in case of malfunction.

More information about replacing parts is shown in the video:

The heater often suffers from scale, which does not allow heat to pass through, causing the heating element to burn out. Therefore, do not forget to run the machine with an idle cycle, using descaling agents or ordinary baking soda and vinegar.

Let our instructions help solve problems with technology. Prevent problems in advance, without waiting for the final breakdown of nodes. Proper installation and care of PMM is no less important than its purchase.
