The watermelon season is in full swing, so it’s worth including this fruit in your menu. It is a good source of vitamins A and C and minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. Like tomatoes, it is rich in lycopene, a compound that is believed to have a strong anti-cancer effect. Watermelon is very refreshing, so it is the perfect fruit for hot days.

Watermelon is quite a sweet fruit, so we are often afraid of it eat, or when we are tempted to eat it, we have remorse. And unnecessarily. 92% of watermelon consists of water, making it low in calories and even people who are on a diet slimming products, they can safely reach for it. Tomato and watermelon gazpacho – 297 kcal
Ingredients:
2 tomatoes, 300 g of peeled watermelon, a small onion, a clove of garlic, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tablespoon of natural yoghurt, salt, pepper
Preparation:
- Tomatoes scald, peel, cut into cubes. Also cut the onion.
- Watermelon remove the seeds and cut into cubes. Put a few cubes aside and add the rest to tomatoes.
- Add garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper and blend.
- Decorate yogurt and the remaining watermelon cubes, chill in the refrigerator.
Watermelon and lime drink – 210 kcal
Ingredients:
500 g peeled watermelon, juice of 1 lime, 0,5 cups of water, a pinch of ginger, 2 lime slices
Preparation:
- Watermelon remove the seeds, cut into cubes.
- Add lime juice, water and ginger, blend everything and chill.
- Decorate lime slices.
Salad with watermelon, spinach, feta and avocado – 439 kcal
Ingredients:
300 g peeled watermelon, a handful of fresh spinach leaves, 0,5 avocado, 30 g of feta cheese, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, pepper
Preparation:
- Watermelon, Dice the avocado and cheese and mix.
- Arrange on spinach leaves, drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, season with pepper.
Grilled watermelon with meat – 436 kcal
Ingredients:
100 g chicken breasts, 300 g watermelon, 2 tablespoons of honey, 200 g strawberries, 0,5 mango, fresh basil, spices (garlic, pepper, salt)
Preparation
- Watermelon slice and brush with honey on each side (use 2 tbsp honey).
- Meat season to taste and grill together with the watermelon (grill the watermelon for 2 min on each side).
- Strawberries and Mango blend, cool the resulting sauce in the refrigerator.
- Ready Pour the sauce over the meat and watermelon and garnish with fresh basil.
