Cabinet-pencil case – a kind of cabinet furniture. It can be of different widths, depths and heights, but is usually compact – narrow, tall and shallow. The washing machine case helps protect appliances from dirt, and also allows you to make the most of the space above it. Such furniture is suitable for small rooms and will help save space.
Types
The washing machine can be installed in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in the combined bathroom, less often in the corridor if there are communications nearby, or extremely rarely in the toilet, because there is always very little space here. In a private house, this may be a specially allocated room – a laundry room.
Depending on the type of room (wet, dry), the material for the manufacture of furniture is also selected:
- Plastic. This is a budget solution. In the store you can pick up a pencil case of a suitable size with shelves, drawers or cabinets with swinging or sliding doors. Plastic furniture is not afraid of moisture, so it is suitable for installation in a bathroom or bathroom. The only negative is the fragility.
- MDF panels. A pencil case made of this material should only be installed in dry places – in the kitchen, in the corridor, in the laundry room. Furniture made of MDF panels is strong and durable, suitable for embedding household appliances. Facades are deaf or glazed. Behind the glass doors, the car built into the pencil case looks stylish.
- Furniture shield. Inexpensive, durable material. Suitable for dry rooms only. Pencil cases are often made from it, but it will not work to build a washing machine into such models.
- Natural tree. Pencil cases are made to order. Such furniture is needed if the owner of the premises has a goal – to equip the interior in a certain style, such as baroque. Baroque facades are richly decorated with carvings, patinated, gilding, ornate bronze-like handles are allowed. Furniture made of natural wood is necessarily impregnated with water-repellent compounds, but it is still not recommended to install it in wet rooms. A wooden pencil case with a built-in washing machine is stylish and convenient.
On a note. On sale you can find products made of metal and tempered glass. They fit perfectly into the high-tech style. Glass can be transparent, frosted, satin-effect or sandblasted. You can order a facade made using the fusing technique – expensive, but beautiful.
Manufacturers
Budget options for washing machine cases can be found in the IKEA chain of stores – the Lillongen series. These are simple, handleless pieces that will fit even tiny bathrooms.
The Russian company “Two Aquarius” makes stylish cases for washing machines from MDF panels and natural wood that will fit into any interior. In the photo below, the model is made of alder.
The Spanish manufacturer Misty produces exclusive cases, stylized as Baroque, with gilding, patina, and exquisite fittings. They can be purchased separately or as a set.
Affordable pencil cases are produced under the Roca brand (Spain). Outwardly, they are concise, compact, nothing more. Such furniture is ideal for a small room.
Before buying a finished pencil case, take accurate measurements from the place where it will be installed and decide on the material of manufacture. And remember, furniture should stylistically match the interior – remain invisible or, conversely, attract the eye.
