4 things to know about andropause

Greek andros, which means “man”, and pausis, “Cessation”, andropause is often presented as the male counterpart of menopause. Here is what you need to know about this phenomenon which affects mature men.
1. Andropause does not exist

2. Andropause leads to fatigue and various disorders
This decrease in testosterone production linked to andropause is at the origin of sleep disorders, erectile or sexual disorders, decreased libido, decalcification and feeling of fatigue.
Other inconveniences can also occur: excessive sweating, insomnia, weight gain. If these symptoms appear, make an appointment with your doctor who can offer you treatment or non-drug alternatives.
3. Dieting decreases the effects of andropause
As they get older, some men “gain belly”. A belly that they had better lose since it is recognized that loss of abdominal fat reduces the effects of andropause.
Along with the diet, it is also advisable to practice physical activity in order to lose abdominal fat more easily.
4. Stress increases andropause
Stressful situations cause the body to react and release cortisol. This hormone has the particularity of lowering the production of testoterone and therefore promote the appearance of signs of andropause.
To avoid these inconveniences, it may be wise to practicing yoga or performing relaxation exercises.
