To prevent the sun from harming your skin, protect it before every outing. 4 tips to avoid risk.
SYMPTOMS
What sun dermatitis looks like: small red spots accompanied by itching.
Sun allergies are very common in women between the ages of 15 and 35. It causes discomfort and negatively affects the appearance, is expressed in the appearance of small red spots that cause itching. On the face, these spots usually do not appear, but they are on the neck, shoulders, arms and legs, not to mention the instep of the foot.
CAUSES
What is the main reason? Damage caused by UVA rays.
Allergy to the sun is caused by ultraviolet rays, especially UVA rays, after exposure to which a rash appears. This usually happens after 12 hours. Relapses are often inevitable. Sun allergies can be more severe: more dots, more itching, and more affected areas.
RULE 1
Avoid sun exposure when solar activity is at its highest.
Apply plenty of sunscreen just before going out in the sun.
RULE 2
Do not expose children under 3 years of age to direct sunlight.
If avoiding direct sunlight is not possible, clothing is the best protection. After swimming, dry your child’s skin with a towel and reapply a water and sand resistant sun cream formulated specifically for children and textured so that the cream is visible during application.
RULE 3
Protect yourself from the sun with clothing, a hat, and sunglasses with an ultraviolet filter.
Not all clothing protects well: its effectiveness depends on the fabric. Recently, special clothing has been developed to protect against ultraviolet rays: very dense fabric or fabric with solar filters. Black is better than white. Protection weakens with increasing humidity.
RULE 4
Apply a sufficient amount.
“Two layers are better than one.” Don’t forget the ears, the back of the neck and the legs.
Reapply cream every two hours, after swimming, or when sweating profusely (even if the cream is waterproof). There are many forms (cream, liquid, gel, milk, solid) to suit all needs and preferences. It has been noticed that some people reapply the product more often if they like its texture, and this increases the effectiveness of protection.
CARE
Prevention.
The main type of treatment is prevention. The ideal solution is to avoid the sun or wear protective clothing. If the sun cannot be avoided:
- Do not sunbathe between 12:00 and 16:00.
- Sunbathe gradually (20-30 minutes a day).
- Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with a strong protection factor (against UVA and UVB rays).
- Reapply the cream every two hours.
It is required to take all precautions throughout the day.
