Do I need to ventilate the dishwasher after finishing washing? This question worries many users, so there are supporters of different opinions. Some believe that the assistant does not require special care, just take out clean utensils. Others that the condensate should evaporate and not accumulate in the bunker. Let’s figure it out.
Can the door be left closed?
Some housewives believe that since the manufacturer has released a dishwasher, it means that she should not only wash dirty dishes, but also engage in self-service. That is, additional maintenance of the equipment is not required. There are other, more rational arguments for this. Here is how users justify the constantly closed PMM door:
- The machine was tested at the factory before it was delivered to the store, so water may remain inside. Nothing terrible happened, did it?
- Washing is carried out at high temperature with chemicals, so you should not be afraid of the appearance of mold and fungus. Moreover, the remnants of the powder will only dry to the walls if you keep the door open.
- Not for this, buyers chose a compact machine to take up space in the kitchen with a door. And so there is nowhere to turn around, for sure the manufacturer foresaw this moment.
- Excessive electricity consumption is useless, because when you open the light is on.
Of course, the bunker can be kept closed if you so desire. But what is better for technology and health? Let’s consider the second point.
Do I need to keep the door open?
In fact, the answer has long been spelled out in the PMM operating instructions. If you missed this point, then we remind you that moisture and food debris are the best environment for the development of bacteria, fungi and mold, which are not easy to get rid of later. Of course, machines are tested at the factory, but this does not mean that you need to leave the chamber full of dirty dishes and moisture.
Here are the manufacturers’ top recommendations:
- After the end of the cycle, let the plates dry well before removing the dishes.
- After each wash, clean the drain filter from debris and food debris, wipe the seal with a dry cloth.
- With frequent use of PMM and constant cleaning, it is not necessary to open the door every time, the bacteria will not have time to multiply.
- If you rarely use the machine, then let the chamber dry well, otherwise the remaining water will stagnate.
The technique must be used at least once a week, otherwise there is no point. Residual water always remains in the filter reservoir, preventing the rubber elements from drying out. That’s why it’s so important to keep the parts clean and prevent moisture and food from damaging the machine.
