4 most common illnesses in office workers

Remember the phrase from the popular film “Beware of the Car”: “Everyone who does not have a car wants to buy it. Everyone who has a car wants to sell it. ” The situation is approximately the same with office work: every office worker dreams of not having to go to work on crowded roads every morning, and everyone who works from home no, no, and dreams of being among people more often.

However, according to doctors, there are several dangerous ailments behind the office seat. And they are purchased in the office.

More frequent colds and flu

Remember that public service announcement that appeared on the Sick? Stay at home””? Unfortunately, office workers often break this rule. But in the office, people are in a poorly ventilated area, together with a large number of people.

And, of course, the chances that some of the employees have already started to get sick and can infect colleagues is extremely high.

What to do? During epidemics, try to wash your hands after shaking hands in the morning. During the cold season, try to drink vitamins, if possible, temper during the year. Ventilate your office.

Gastritis and other digestive disorders

Not every office has the opportunity to have a full meal. And if you get a lunch that is not nutritious enough, then you will “catch up” calories at dinner. And as a result – extra pounds. If in the office it is generally problematic to dine and employees “keep” on snacks, hello gastritis, colitis, obesity!

What to do? Establish a diet and drink regimen (drink up to 2-2,5 liters of water per day). By the way, this can be helped by special applications that regularly remind you to drink. Replace harmful office goodies with healthy snacks.

Back related diseases

For 6-7 hours he has to sit in the office, almost without getting up. This often leads to various problems with the spine and joints. Various back illnesses occur almost instantly, especially if we have incorrect posture (for example, the neck stretched out towards the monitor) or an uncomfortable chair.

What to do? Don’t sit day after day. Get up at least once every half hour to walk around the office or do a light warm-up. Arrange for yourself such a workplace so that your back is straight, and your eyes do not look down, but in front of you, or even slightly up.

Allergic reactions

Even people with no previous allergies often find it difficult to work in the office due to dust. And even though cleaning is carried out even every day, few people often clean household appliances. But air conditioners, printers, scanners and other office equipment emit a lot of toxic substances that they emit. For example, printers are sources of ozone, which is potentially dangerous if filters are not replaced in time.

Air conditioners can also sometimes cause allergies, since mold appears in them if filters are not replaced in time.

What to do? Initiate cleaning of office equipment. Start with yourself and maybe your colleagues will follow your example. Open windows as often as possible. Air conditioning is not a substitute for fresh air. Make sure to regularly replace filters in the technique.

However, despite all of the above, the office is a communication that those who work at home are deprived of. Appreciate it!

And, of course, be healthy!
