A comb with large teeth, a nourishing mask, air, a little time – and your hair will again become soft, silky and obedient, as in childhood. Tips for stylists.
How to wash your hair
It is at this point that mistakes are made due to ignorance. We want to do our best and often use too much shampoo and rub our heads as hard as we can, believing that the more lather, “the better the hair will rinse.” “It is not right! explains Valérie Varenne, Carita specialist, “this is the best way to damage the roots and tangle the hair.”
First, massage your scalp for a minute using shampoo: put your fingers on top, like spider legs, and lightly massage your head without moving your fingers. The task is to get rid of dirt and excess sebum. Then gently wash your hair, spreading it along the length so that it does not get tangled, placing your hands deep in the hairline, as superficial washing is harmful to hair that has already become brittle due to its length. Do not leave shampoo on your hair (this should only be done with a mask), this will not give them anything.

If you have long hair, wash it with your head tilted back, not forward, holding it in the shower, as if you were at the hairdresser – this will keep your hair from damage and make it easier to comb.
Tip: Don’t shampoo directly on your head. Dilute a small amount of it in the palm of your hand with water, about the size of a small walnut, and then evenly distribute it on your hair.

How to comb your hair
It is good to untangle the hair both at the top and in depth only with the help of a comb. Be careful: no matter how strong your hair is, it will not resist excessive brushing. Especially if they are wet. In this respect, too, be lenient with them. Use a wide-tooth comb made of plastic or horn so that it can be cleaned with water. Thin combs or combs made of metal pull out a lot of hair.
Tip: start combing your hair, sorting out the tangled strands at the ends, then work your way up to the roots to make it easier for the comb to work.

How to dry your hair
Using a hair dryer implies too high an air temperature, and heat is the main enemy of hair. Due to the heat, the hair dries out and becomes unnecessarily brittle. In addition, the hair dryer has a mechanical effect on the hair scales, which open slightly and begin to look like a palm tree trunk. “As a result, they become rough, and the hair clings to the comb,” explains Carita specialist Tom Marcireau, and reminds us that delicate hair should be smooth, with tightly closed scales. Ideally, you should let your hair air dry on its own. If you are in a hurry or you are cold, then first dry them with warm air, holding the hair dryer at a distance of 20 centimeters from the hair.
Tip: if you want to look like after styling, there is one tricky trick. When your hair is almost dry, twist only the top three or four strands with a round brush. Never press the hair dryer against the brush, you risk drying out your hair.

How to brush your hair
The use of a brush is very important. It gives access to oxygen, rids the hair of the dust that has accumulated on them during the day, as well as from the remnants of hair products, which in the end can “suffocate” the capillary fibers. In addition, it is the brush that gives volume to the hair. “The hairbrush should be used to comb the hair, not the scalp,” recalls Josette Cardon, an employee of the René Furteret Institute, who rejects plastic brushes: they scratch the skin with their teeth and eventually irritate it. Invest in a bristle brush, it’s more expensive but softer.
Tip: every night before going to bed, comb your hair with a brush from the top and bottom, tilting your head forward and then to the side. It is not at all necessary to brush a hundred times, 20 strokes are enough.
