Arthritis is an extremely unpleasant inflammatory disease that affects the joints and leads to excruciating pain. If the legs are affected, there are also difficulties with movement, and this significantly reduces the quality of life, preventing a person from fully working and resting.
Traditional medicine offers a lot of tools and techniques to combat arthritis, however, even such an extensive arsenal is sometimes not enough for a complete recovery and elimination of severe pain. And some patients simply cannot afford pharmaceutical drugs against arthritis.
Ginger is the best remedy for arthritis
Up to 3% of the total composition of the ginger root is a complex essential oil, consisting of the following components:
α- and β-zingiberenes are organic substances from the class of terpenes (there are similar ones, for example, in pine resin, also used to treat joints);
Cineole;
Camphene;
Bissopathic;
Citral;
Borneo;
Linalool;
Gingerol.
In addition, ginger contains vitamins (ascorbic acid, retinol, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin), minerals (sodium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, zinc) and essential amino acids (methionine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, valine, threonine). Regular consumption of ginger root in itself benefits the body, helps to reduce inflammation, accelerates tissue regeneration and increases resistance to disease.
Oral ginger extract for arthritis is comparable to ibuprofen in scientific studies [1] and betamethasone [2]. And the use of grated ginger root for daily compresses on a sore joint reduces the intensity of pain by half in a week. [3].
Infusion of ginger, honey and lemon for oral administration:
Put two tablespoons of fresh ginger root grated on a fine grater on the bottom of a glass liter jar.
Squeeze in the juice from one lemon.
Fill with boiling water to the brim and stir.
Wait for the mixture to cool to room temperature and add two tablespoons of liquid honey to it, mix thoroughly again.
Store the infusion in the refrigerator and take half a glass three times a day.
Alcohol tincture for rubbing a diseased joint:
Twenty grams of dry ginger powder (about the amount usually contained in a standard bag of spice intended for culinary purposes) pour into a glass jar.
Pour the powder with 250 ml of vodka, tightly close the lid and shake.
Store the tincture in a dark, cool place for at least two weeks, shaking the jar from time to time.
The finished product is used for arthritis as a basis for rubbing and compresses on a sore joint.
Ginger compress:
Prepare a fabric base (rolled gauze, cotton towel, old handkerchief) to match the size of the joint affected by arthritis, as well as cellophane and insulation material.
Pour a few tablespoons of dry ginger powder into a saucer and mix with warm water so that a thick slurry is obtained.
Put this gruel in a uniform thin layer on a fabric base, attach it to a sore spot, cover with cellophane and wrap it on top, for example, with a scarf.
Keep the compress for at least 20 minutes, you can even 40 – this will not lead to a burn, the heat will be uniform and deep.
After removing the compress, wash the skin with warm water and cover with clothing – the joint should not cool sharply.

Rosehip for arthritis treatment
You can talk about the health benefits of rose hips for a long time, which is worth only the record content of vitamin C in it. But today we are interested in recipes for the treatment of arthritis. So, recently it turned out that rose hips contain a unique substance that allows you to fight inflammatory processes in the joints and stimulate the restoration of cartilage tissue – GOPO fatty acid.
This acid inhibits the activity of cartilage-destroying enzymes, hence extending their lifespan. In addition, GOPO stimulates the synthesis of collagen, which is necessary not only for the production of new cartilage cells, but also for the flexibility of ligaments, muscle strength and skin elasticity. And the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect of rose hips is explained by the suppression of the activity of cyclooxygenase, the enzyme already repeatedly mentioned above.

Rosehip syrup:
Peel half a kilogram of fresh berries from the stalks and antennae, wash and put in a metal colander with a fine mesh, and place it in an enamel pan.
Pour rose hips with 500 ml of boiling water, cover the pan with a lid, wrap with towels and leave to cook for 30-40 minutes. You can’t boil berries, such recipes for arthritis will not help, because boiling destroys the necessary nutrients.
In another saucepan, prepare a thick sugar syrup at the rate of 1 cup of water to 1 cup of sugar.
Squeeze the berries in a colander with a pusher, wait until all the liquid drains down and discard them, and add sugar syrup to the resulting infusion and mix thoroughly.
Pour the finished medicine into a glass jar or bottle, store in the refrigerator and take 1 tablespoon with each meal, for example, adding to tea.
Rosehip tincture:
Grind a glass of dried berries with a coffee grinder or cutter, pour into a glass container with a tight lid.
Pour the powder with 250 ml of vodka, cork and shake.
Send for storage in a dry, shady place for 3-4 weeks, then strain.
Take a teaspoon of the tincture three times a day. This remedy helps not only against arthritis, but also against colds, chronic fatigue and beriberi.
Rosehip tea:
Put a tablespoon of dried berries in a cup, pour boiling water over it, cover with a saucer and wait 10-15 minutes.
Drink in the morning. In a cooled drink, you can add a spoonful of honey.
Противопоказания
Eating more than 100 g of fresh rose hips per day can lead to an overdose of ascorbic acid. If you do this for a long time, stones may appear in the kidneys, and the liver will begin to produce too much bilirubin, which is fraught with the development of non-infectious jaundice.
A large amount of wild rose, eaten at once, causes heartburn and pain in the epigastrium. People with gastritis and stomach ulcers with high acidity should refrain from these berries.
Rosehip water infusion harms the teeth, thinning the enamel and spoiling the color, therefore, after using such a medicine, rinse your mouth thoroughly with clean water.
Any rosehip-based preparations, including arthritis remedies, are contraindicated in people with thrombophlebitis or a tendency to clot.
Conclusion
Treatment will only work if you use the proven products and spices listed in this article, which have undergone many scientific studies, and their effectiveness has been confirmed.
