And also a nice bonus! Answers of a professional tattoo artist to the most popular questions from clients.
It turns out that the word “tattoo” was invented by the legendary James Cook, who, by the way, was eaten by the natives. He “heard” the word in the Polynesian Islands in the local language. “Tatau” translated into Russian is a drawing.
And in the ancient world, tattoos were done everywhere, “from the southern mountains to the northern seas”, as one famous song says, but not everyone could afford them. All over the world, tattooing has been an indicator of nobility and wealth. But besides this, it was not only an ornament, but also a sign of a tribe, clan, social belonging. The ancients also believed that the magical power of tattoos would protect them from evil spirits.
It’s another matter now. In the modern world, it is difficult to meet a person without a pattern on the body. And if you look at the richest and most status athletes, actors and show business stars, it might seem that they are organizing competitions, whose tattoos are cooler and more expensive and who have more tattoos on their bodies.
But what kind of tattoo to make if you came to the salon for the first time? What to look for and how not to get into a mess when choosing a drawing? We talked about this with a professional tattoo artist Marina Krassovka.
It was from her that we learned that, as such, there is no fashion for tattoo drawings. Although, of course, many people prefer small tattoos.
– It is important to be aware of the choice, – says Marina. – Tattooing is a very responsible matter, because it will remain on the human body forever.
You can get a tattoo on absolutely all places covered with skin. However, there are areas that are best avoided for a number of reasons. For example, tattoos in the pedicure area and on fingers / palms. In these places, the skin is most often renewed and prone to dryness, unlike other areas, so in most cases the tattoo here is blurred or completely erased.
— How safe is it? Are there any contraindications?
– Tattoos are allowed from the age of 18. With the written permission of the guardian – from the age of 16.
Tattoos are contraindicated for people with serious health problems. Diseases associated with the nervous, cardiovascular, excretory, endocrine systems and gastrointestinal tract require specialist advice before the tattoo procedure.
It is worth transferring the session for a while for pregnant women, as well as for lactating women. If you feel unwell that can somehow affect the session, be sure to warn the master.
It is important that the procedure is done under sterile conditions. Make sure that the master opens needles and other materials while you are in attendance.
– I want to, but I’m afraid. Do potential clients tell you this? And what do you answer?
– The client either wants a tattoo or does not want to. There is nothing to be afraid of!
— Which tattoo should a newbie choose?
– A tattoo is not just a drawing on the body for fun. A person chooses for himself what is close to him in spirit or reflects his ideals and beliefs. Even if the picture he has chosen does not carry a deep meaning, but is done for the sake of self-confidence, in the process of life a person will definitely put meaning in this tattoo.
Interview
Do you have tattoos?
Yes, and not one.
No.
– A lot of people come to me who want to get a tattoo, but don’t know which one. I offer them my ready-made projects, which we finalize with the client individually. A person must definitely bring his element into the tattoo design so that he understands for sure that she is only his.
