1. Change of fate and personality. Director Jacques Audiard is interested in watching the development of personality.
Whether it’s the identity of the dog in his Baxter or the identity of the guy who evicts the hard-nosed defaulters in My Heart…. At one point, the hero decides that he can become a pianist. And Odiar almost “on the fingers” shows how a completely different person emerges from the bowels of the redneck and stupidity, sprouts.
2. Game of Romain Dury. An exceptional case: a famous actor does not demonstrate himself, but tries to be completely invisible … The image of the hero only benefits from this — it acquires special expressiveness.
3. Polyphony of life. The film has many characters, lines, and dramatic situations; his whole structure seems to be working against the hero: he must overcome the routine of everyday life in order not to lose the main line — himself. And here you need to admire the director: he created everyday life on the screen in its natural course and did not lose the main line — his film, which is about changes inside, not outside.
Starring: Romain Dury, Emmanuel Devos, Lynn Dan Pam.
