Each of us has moments when it seems that nothing will work out, that life has failed. Entrepreneur Daniel Milstein shares three phrases you need to repeat to yourself in order to keep moving forward, towards success, no matter what.
You are the only architect of your destiny. Don’t forget to use your natural tool, your inner voice. It will help you formulate a plan of action, increase self-confidence, drown out external voices of critics and naysayers, survive failures and learn from mistakes.
Consider: Has your inner voice joined the chorus of doubters? If the answer is yes, you need to reprogram thought processes. To do this, say three cherished phrases today and repeat every day.
1. Do it now
Procrastination is like a quagmire. If left unattended, it will drag you into a swamp of destructive indecision. We will find excuse after excuse, and eventually we will say goodbye to the dream. If we keep telling ourselves that it’s okay to do nothing, we won’t achieve anything. We need to allow our inner voice to constantly motivate us and give ourselves completely to the dream.
The difference between “could” and “did” is planning and action, so be your own coach and give yourself permission to change. Don’t take no for an answer, especially from yourself.
2. I deserve it
When I meet someone who derails their dreams or misses out on opportunities for personal growth and improvement, I always ask, “Don’t you deserve the best?” If you are one of those who gave up on the dream of success, you need to get off the beaten path and step out of your comfort zone. Whatever you dream of, tell yourself that you deserve a brilliant future, invest in yourself, give yourself the most opportunities.
Dreaming of a career change? Recover at the university. Would you like to read Heine in the original? You will have to study German every day for several years. Don’t try to compromise if that gets in the way of being happy in the end.
3. I know that I can
Fear of failure, the inability to move forward after a mistake is one of the most common obstacles to success. Everyone has fears, but if we make decisions based on them, we will never reach our potential. To allow fear to paralyze our development is to resign ourselves to our ordinary fate and miss the invaluable lessons that can only be learned through trial and error.
Make sure that the inner voice is stronger than fear. It is impossible to get rid of fear instantly. Individual therapy may be required. It will be difficult, but in return you will get an incomparable feeling of freedom.
Success is not your property. You rent it, which you renew every day
Looking back on my path to success, I appreciate the power of internal dialogue. Of course, I had fears and failures. But when I first felt a fit of unbearable disappointment, I decided that I would never consider myself a failure. I either win or learn. Sometimes the road is steep, difficult and tiring. During the days of trials, it is important to rely on the inner voice that leads you forward. There are always opportunities in life. They only end when we stop using them.
Start listening to your inner voice today. What he says? Do you believe in your success? Think you can? You’re right. Think you can’t do it? You are right again. You are what you think. If you want to be successful, your internal dialogue must be positive and motivating.
Success is not your property. You rent it, which you renew every day.
