Modern models of dishwashers operate at different temperature conditions. The degree of cleaning of the plates and the consumption of powder during the washing process will depend on the indicator on the thermometer. In this article we will tell you what the temperature of the water in the dishwasher can be, as well as its optimal and maximum values.
At what temperature does the dishwasher wash?
Not a single dishwasher, whether it be Beko, Siemens or Ariston, can heat water above the temperature maximum, which is laid down by the system at the stage of its production. Each specific machine has its own maximum heating, which depends on the type of device, its power and design features. Therefore, all PMMs can be conditionally divided into: high-temperature and low-temperature. Let’s take a closer look at how they differ.
High temperature devices
Washing and drying kitchen utensils in this type of dishwasher takes place when water is heated from 70 to 82 ° C (depending on the model). To do this, it has an additional heating element, which allows you to accelerate to a given mark on the thermometer. Therefore, the advantages of such PMM are obvious:
- the process of cleaning and drying cutlery is faster;
- there is no need to use additional detergents or their consumption is significantly reduced;
- elimination of pathogens and other harmful bacteria.
Disinfection of dishes is possible only when washing with high heat (not lower than 70 °C). The comfortable temperature for human hands is 40 °C. Therefore, no matter how much you want to, it will not be possible to get rid of harmful microorganisms by washing the dishes by hand. In this regard, high-temperature machines clearly win.
The disadvantage of such machines is the high power consumption, especially if you use high-degree cycles for washing daily. Yes, and their cost is much higher, but, by and large, it is quite justified. Most often, such devices are found in the brands Bosch, Siemens, Beko.
Low temperature washing machines
These devices operate at a maximum temperature of 65 °C. But to ensure high-quality dishwashing, detergents are indispensable here. Disinfection is also not possible. After all, to remove germs, it is necessary that the water is heated to at least 70 ° C. But for those who care about saving energy and for whom disinfection is not a priority, it is better to choose a low-temperature type model.
The latter type of PMM is more common and cheaper, since their functionality in terms of choosing a temperature regime is limited. But this does not mean that such a technique is not capable of high-quality laundering of pollution.
Optimum washing temperature
Most modern washing machines are able to operate at different temperatures, which depend on the amount and degree of soiling of the loaded kitchen utensils and the selected washing program. In order to reliably determine at what degree the equipment copes with its duties most effectively, you need to try all the modes of its operation.
Standard
The program is basic and is provided in all PMM, regardless of the manufacturer and price. The mode takes place when the water is heated to 45-65 ° C.
This is quite enough for high-quality and quick washing of kitchen utensils with a low and medium degree of contamination. Suitable for daily use.
Intensive
A useful feature, but, alas, not every home assistant can “boast” of its presence. The equipment washes when heated from 70 ° C and above, so it easily copes with strong contamination (fat, dried food residues) even in pans and pots.
In addition, such a program ensures the disinfection of kitchen utensils, as well as the sterilization of cans for conservation. But you should not abuse it, as it is longer and more energy-intensive than any other washing program.
Delicate
For careful handling of products made of fragile materials (porcelain, crystal), dishwashers use a delicate program. The t values in this case do not rise above 40 ° C, and the cycle itself lasts from 30 to 100 minutes (depending on the model). For example, in PMM “Siemens” it takes at least 1 hour 10 minutes, and in “Bosch” – only 44 minutes.
Do not use the delicate mode of operation without a special agent capable of completely dissolving at 30 °C. Also, do not use it on heavily soiled kitchen appliances. Otherwise, the cleaning quality will be unsatisfactory.
Conclusion
In any dishwasher, a special device, a temperature sensor, is responsible for heating the water. It works at the moment when the water has reached the maximum degree set by the program. Then the temperature sensor through the control module sends a signal to the heating element to turn off. If this important piece of equipment fails, repairs should be carried out without delay. Otherwise, this will necessarily negatively affect the quality of the dishwasher.
