The first stage of the cycling Tour of Poland ended in a terrible tragedy. One of the competitors crashed into a fence and was seriously injured.

Every year, for almost a century, the Tour of Poland, a multi-day cycling race, has been held in Europe. This time the sporting event started on 5 August.
Unfortunately, the first day of the Tour of Poland was marked by a terrible accident.
A few meters before the finish line, the Dutchmen Dylan Grunevegen and Fabio Jacobsen began to fight for victory in the cycling race. At the last moment, Jacobsen began to overtake his opponent. In a fit of struggle, Dylan pushed the young man aside.
At a speed of 80 km / h, Fabio flew over the fences, and then collided with the judge.
Jacobsen suffered many serious injuries. To provide the athlete with emergency assistance, a helicopter was sent for him.
Doctors assess the condition of the 23-year-old athlete as consistently difficult. He was put into an artificial coma.
In addition to Fabio, other participants of the race also suffered – however, most escaped with minor injuries. Gruneveg himself was disqualified and his victory in the Tour of Poland was canceled.
As reported on the channel’s website , the manager of the team for which Fabio played, intends to sue the athlete who caused the tragedy in the competition.
“This guy needs to be put in jail. I go to court, this kind of action has no place in cycling. This is a criminal act, Mr. Grunevegen, ”the man wrote on social media.
