20 easy ways to take care of yourself

Everywhere they say: be kinder to yourself, take care of yourself – but are we in the turmoil of affairs? It seems that for this you need to rebuild your whole life, but so far there is neither time nor energy for this. However, being kind to yourself is easier than you think. Here are some ideas.

1. Get rid of the negativity on social media

Today, there is a lot of talk about the importance of a digital detox, and some experts even call for deleting your social media accounts. If you are not yet ready for such a radical step, then at least you should turn off notifications or switch them to silent mode. And of course, it’s high time to unsubscribe from everyone and everything who sows negativity, whether it be news resources or gloomy buddies.

2. Wash your face

Trite to the point of horror, but the best way to instantly feel more cheerful and fresh has not yet been invented. Alternatively, you can pour yourself a soothing tea and apply a cleansing or nourishing mask to your face. The pores will thank you.

3. Pamper yourself

Do something every day to please yourself. It can be a perfect trifle: a manicure, a new book. Something for which there was no time for a long time.

4. Do something that has been bothering you for a long time

Pay the bill, change the light bulb, pay the tax – yes, you don’t want to do this, but trust me, you will immediately feel better.

5. Change something in your daily routine

If you usually have scrambled eggs for breakfast, make porridge. If you watch a series before bed, try reading or meditating. Change starts with small steps.

6. Go outside

Go for a run or at least a walk. Fresh air and greenery work wonders.

7. Eat something healthy

Ideally, you should do this for at least a week and pay attention to how you feel – most likely, it will improve at least a little.

8. Write down thoughts and plans

If you have a fresh idea or something that you would like to do, “unload” it from your head by transferring it to paper.

9. Make a to-do list

By crossing off items from this list, you will be able to see progress and feel satisfied.

10. Thank someone

Tell someone around you that you love him or her, or say thank you, even if that person is who they are. Important relationships in your life should be given special attention, not let them take their course. You can also thank life (fate, the universe, yourself) for everything you have.

11. Create a place for yourself where you can think

Such a place will become your island of comfort and safety in especially difficult days. You can, for example, just put pillows on the floor, light candles and try to relax.

12. Find a new passion

What interests you is a hobby, hobby, new sport or art that will inspire and energize you.

13. Moisturize your body with some lotion

Buy a cream, oil or lotion with a particularly pleasant smell for you and apply it regularly on the body – this is not only useful and pleasant, but also very soothing.

14. Stretch or do yoga

It is important for your body to move, and for you to stay in contact with it. A five-minute practice will help you relax and improve blood circulation.

15. Be kind to yourself

Stand in front of a mirror and write down three things you love about yourself. Even if at first it seems that there is no such thing, think carefully, take a closer look at your reflection. And finally learn to accept compliments!

16. Take it slow

Always rushing headlong, afraid to be late everywhere? This only increases stress: try to get up earlier, but move more slowly. Put your phone down while chatting with others or walking, pay attention to what is happening around you. Listen to the sounds, savor the taste, listen to the smells.

17. Get rid of junk

It may seem like another unpleasant task on the to-do list, but in the end you will feel better, and it will be more pleasant to be in the apartment or at your desk. Getting rid of unnecessary things is like stopping carrying a senseless and useless load with you. If you don’t believe me, watch or read interviews with minimalists in which they talk about how this approach to life made them happier.

18. Plan your life and prioritize

Write down what is important to you, even if it’s just sleep, food, exercise, and photography, for example. Make sure you do it every day and really enjoy it. Prioritize and get rid of everything that is not important or does not meet your goals.

19. Laugh or do something fun

Yes, life is full of stress, but that’s no reason to take it too seriously. Do not add unnecessary tasks to yourself, which, most likely, you will not be able to handle. It is better to give yourself a break and do what really makes you happy.

20. Challenge your own brain

Crossword, sudoku, puzzle, special simulators for the development of imagination, thinking and memory, which can be easily found on the net – solving complex problems is not only good for our brain, but also gives us a sense of satisfaction.
