1. Gracias Madre

20 Best Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurants in San Francisco

Prized for its food, as well as atmosphere, Gracias Madre offers Mexican-inspired dining with a twist. The cuisine is purely plant-based. But unlike some vegan cooking, the food at Gracias Madre is very hearty. From tacos and enchiladas to homemade chips and guacamole, every dish on the menu is wholesome and satisfying.

Gracias Madre relies on traditional Mexican flavors and locally grown seasonal ingredients. Vegetables are sourced from the organic Be Love Farm in Pleasant Valley, California, while the handcrafted tamales and tortillas are made from heirloom corn. The vegan cheeses are created from nuts.
