2 options for installing a dishwasher next to the oven

When arranging household appliances, one should not neglect the recommendations and requirements set forth in the instructions. Most manufacturers do not advise placing the oven next to the dishwasher. We will find out why their neighborhood is considered harmful and how to put these household appliances so that they do not interfere with each other.

Why shouldn’t the dishwasher be placed next to the oven?

A dishwasher is a machine that has to deal with water. That is why it is not recommended to put it near the oven, stove and hob – if water gets on this technique, it can damage it. And the heat from the stove and other heating appliances can damage the electronics and rubber seals in the dishwasher (Dishwasher).

The proximity of the PMM to the oven is mutually unfavorable – both devices can be seriously damaged due to their proximity.

Installation rules from the manufacturer

Manufacturer requirements:

  1. There must be a gap between the dishwasher and other surfaces – you can not put the device close to other objects.
  2. The minimum technological clearance is 40 cm.
  3. The built-in dishwasher cannot be placed in the end drawer of the headset.
  4. You can not install PMM under the sink.
  5. It is forbidden to place the hob – even if it is with a heat-insulating substrate – above the dishwasher. Moreover, it is not recommended to place the dishwasher under a device that emits heat, or right next to it.

The last rule directly answers the question posed. Do not place the PMM and the oven closer than 40 cm apart. This norm was established by German manufacturers, who calculated it taking into account all factors.

If the consumer violates the norms of the technological gap, then you can not count on warranty service – the craftsmen will refuse free repairs in the event of a breakdown.

Manufacturers also recommend fixing the dishwasher on both sides. For this, for example, you can use the adjacent headset boxes.

In a small-sized kitchen, somewhere in Khrushchev, it is very difficult to meet the standards of manufacturers regarding the installation of household appliances. If the kitchen is cramped, not allowing you to comply with the norms, there are two options left:

  • Refuse to install PMM.
  • Break the rules by placing the dishwasher and stove closer than specified by the manufacturer.

In addition to the loss of warranty, the proximity of the PMM and the oven threatens with serious breakdowns – their risk increases by 1,5 times.

Dishwasher in a pencil case with an oven

There are 2 options for embedding PMM in a pencil case:

  • Vertically embedded. Installation is carried out in a conventional cabinet-pencil case. At the bottom is a dishwasher, at the top – an oven (or any other household appliances). This method of placing equipment saves 50–90 cm of space.
  • Horizontally embedded. A pencil case is placed along the walls into 3-4 sections, each of which contains one piece of equipment.

The dishwasher is placed in a pencil case under the stove, on the contrary, it cannot be placed – if a leak occurs, then both appliances will suffer. The oven will be flooded with water, and the steam that will rise from it will harm the electronic filling of the PMM.

Alternative from the manufacturer

Despite the operational requirements, many users violate them due to the tightness of the room. For owners of small kitchens, manufacturers have come up with a way out – they have created a 2 in 1 device in which the PMM and the oven are combined into one. The first is at the bottom, the second is at the top. There is also an apparatus in which a whole trio is assembled – in addition to the two considered devices, there is also a hob – gas or electric. Such options are offered by the Candy trademark. For example, there are “Kandy Duo” and “Kandy Trio”.

Customer Reviews

Users on many forums are actively discussing the topic of the proximity of the PMM to the oven. Most of those who responded argue that placing embedded appliances in the neighborhood is completely safe. Thanks to the partition of the pencil case, the equipment is protected from trouble.

Expert commentary. When turned on at the same time, the stove can cause a short circuit in the electronic unit of the dishwasher.

Users who have built-in appliances located next door are not advised to turn them on at the same time. Others argue that the simultaneous inclusion depends on the wiring and the power supplied to the house. Each device must have a separate electrical wire to the shield and a separate fuse.

It is undesirable to put the dishwasher near the oven, above it and below it. If it is necessary to allow close proximity, it is necessary to ensure maximum thermal insulation of the devices and maintain a minimum technical clearance.
