The washing machine is one of the favorite habitats of furry pets, where they often “drop in” to take a nap. This can be safely asserted, as the news about the accidental washing of a cat in the washing machine appears one after another. First of all, the blame for everything is the inattention of the owners, for which you have to pay with the health of the animals.
Not so long ago, it was reported about a six-month-old cat named Poppy who was injured after washing. The unfortunate escaped with bruises of the eye and head, but quickly recovered. And now, the cat Felix from the city of Maplewood in the United States, who miraculously survived after an hour of washing in an automatic machine, has become another “victim” of the owner’s negligence. Stephanie Carroll-Kirchoff claims that she did not see the cat when she loaded the laundry, and, most likely, turning away for a while, she did not notice how Felix jumped into the drum before starting the wash.
The woman did not find the cat missing, therefore, opening the washing machine door after the end of the program, she was horrified to find her Felix among the wet linen. The poor, unconscious animal was instantly taken to the nearest animal clinic. Veterinarians diagnosed that the victim was in an extremely serious condition and needed to be placed in an oxygen chamber, which they did without delay.
The daily stay of an animal in this chamber costs the owners a tidy sum – about $ 1000. Therefore, the family initiated a fundraiser on the GoFundMe crowdfunding platform to offset at least some of the costs.
However, the forecast of veterinarians is optimistic and there is every chance that Felix will recover in a couple of weeks of treatment. Already a few days after the accident, the cat began to eat, which means that he is on the mend. Be careful!
