Most of Aruba’s beach resorts are found on Palm-Eagle Beach, which is actually comprised of two stretches of sand: Palm Beach and Eagle Beach. Palm Beach is home to the High Rise Hotel District, while Eagle Beach has the Low Rise Hotel District.

The names define the height of the buildings backing the beach, so you can choose which style you prefer. Both beaches are beautiful and great for swimming or strolling. The water is usually calm, clear, and turquoise. Another area with hotels and resorts is the cruise port and island capital of Oranjestad.

Although listed as a 5-star hotel, this property is really more of a 4-star unless you book the Royal Level Barcelo Aruba. A boutique hotel within the resort, it offers a more exclusive, 5-star experience. It has rooms on the top three floors of the hotel, which have the best views; personalized check-in; preferential bookings at the resort’s main restaurant; and access to a private restaurant for Royal guests.

This resort has 373 rooms and suites total, which are done-up in various hues of blue and white. Many come with at least partial ocean views, regardless of whether you are on the Royal Level or not. Some rooms have less than desirable views of the parking lot, however, so if this matters book at least a partial ocean view.

The resort has seven different restaurants, including one buffet, so you won’t get bored eating here. The restaurants range in cuisine, from Mexican to Japanese to Caribbean.

Other amenities including a big, lagoon-style swimming pool and direct access to a pretty section of Palm Beach. There are palapas with sun-loungers on the beach for guests to use.

There are just 13 chic rooms, and each is individually decorated. For a romantic treat, book one of the rooms with access to a semi-private infinity pool with ocean views.
