What man doesn’t like to drink a glass of beer in the company of his best friends, sitting in a pub, or stop by the store and buy himself a couple of bottles of beer? You won’t find your favorite beer on this list (of course, if your bank account doesn’t have the amount with 6 zeros), and you won’t find it in the nearest supermarket either.
Space Barley – $110 for 6 bottles
This is the world’s first “space” beer – it is brewed from barley grown in zero gravity. Barley was launched into space in 2006.
The goal of the experiment was, of course, not to obtain an elite drink: the scientists wanted to find out how well cereals feel without gravity.
Well, after the scientific mission was completed, the Sapporo brewing company received the barley, which prepared this wonderful beer.
Tutankhamun Ale – 75 $ for 500 ml
El Tutankhamun is the same beer that was brewed more than three thousand years ago for the legendary Nefertiti.
The recipe for the drink was recreated at the end of the last century following the traces of the ancient beer wort found in the queen’s brewery.
Crown Ambassador Reserve — 90$ за 750 мл
Brewed at the Crown brewery in Australia since 2008 and positioned as an alternative to vintage wine. Therefore, the bottle has an oblong design like that of champagne.
To make the beer so unique and expensive, only 8000 bottles are produced annually. Each bottle is packed in a special case with a velvet cover.
It is believed that a true connoisseur of beer can afford a bottle of this beer once a year.
Sink the Bismarck — 80$ за 375 мл
This creation of the Scottish brewery Brewdog translates as “Bismarck’s Dive” and is not inferior to vodka in strength – it contains 41 percent alcohol.
Utopias – $ 150 for 700 ml
Beer produced by Samuel Adams. The connoisseur is waiting for 27 percent of alcohol, in connection with which its free sale is prohibited in 13 US states.
Each batch is aged in sherry, cognac, bourbon and scotch casks for up to 18 years and has the appropriate aftertaste.
Schorschbock 57 – $ 275 for 330 ml
This is the champion of the fortress in the world of beer – 57.5% alcohol. If you brew beer stronger, then this will already be a violation of the famous German “Beer Purity Law”, which is 500 years old.
Schorschbräu only produced 36 bottles of this masterpiece. The taste of beer, according to tasters, is smoky and spicy, with a hint of raisins.
Cantillon Gueuze 1978 — 397$ за 350 мл
From famed Belgian brewery Cantillon, this beer was sold at the Skinner Auction in Boston for $397 for a 12 oz bottle. (about 355 ml).
One of the reasons the beer was sold for such a price was the high quality of the beer itself and the fact that it was bottled during the Carter presidency.
Jacobsen Brewhouse Vintage No. 1 — 400$ за 350 мл
Carlsberg produced only 600 bottles of this 10,5% beer. It was the first beer of the modern era to be aged in JC Jacobsen’s cellars since they were built in 1847.
The beer matured in Swedish and French oak barrels for six months.
Brasserie Caulier Vieille Bon Secours Ale — 750-800$ за 350 мл
At 8% ABV, this Belgian strong dark ale has been stored for at least 10 years and is only available at London’s Biodome bar.
Producers have made very small quantities of this beer, so it is quite possible that it is no longer available for sale. If left, then prepare to pay a tidy sum for a bottle.
BrewDog The End of History — 765$ за 350 мл
Crazy beer that is 15 degrees stronger than vodka. Along with an incredible strength (55%), BrewDog produced only 11 bottles.
But the craziest thing is that each bottle was placed in a stuffed animal (squirrels, ermine, hare) that got under the wheels of a car.
Nail Brewing Antarctic Nail Ale — 800-1,500$ за 500 мл
The reason Australian brewery Nail Brewing’s Antarctic Nail Ale is so expensive is because it uses Antarctic water, one of the oldest and naturally purest waters in the world.
The brewery is partnering with Sea Shepherd, an organization fighting to save whales in Antarctica. The first bottle was auctioned off in 2010 for $800, with all proceeds going to Sea Shepherd.
The Lost Abbey Cable Car Kriek — 923$ за 750 мл
The Lost Abbey 7% ale from California is one of the most expensive American-made beers ever sold at a Skinner auction.
The beer went under the hammer for $923 in April 2014.
The Cam/Three Fountains Millennium Geuze 1998 — 923$ за 750 мл
A vintage beer bottled in 1998, which came about through the close collaboration of two Belgian companies: De Cam and Drie Fonteinen.
To enjoy in celebration of the coming millennium, the bottle was purchased at Skinner Auction for $923.
Cantillon Loerik 1998 — 2,583$ за 750 мл
5% beer, which was released only once. The taste of the drink is shrouded in mystery. The bottle sold for $2583 at a Skinner auction in April 2014, and is still the most expensive bottle of beer ever sold at auction.
Allsopp’s Arctic Ale — 5,131$ за 650 мл
A 141-year-old bottle of beer that was brewed in 1875 for an Antarctic expedition.
Perhaps this beer is not even drinkable. But the buyers at the auction in England weren’t put off by the risk, resulting in a sky-high price of more than five thousand US dollars!
