Mysterious Connection: When we dream, we are in touch with an unknown part of ourselves. This inner “cinema” of ours has occupied the minds of the greatest scientists, philosophers, psychoanalysts from time immemorial… But how can we understand it on a closer level?
Our dreams are by no means reducible to arbitrary fantasies, as many people think; they seek to convey to us psychological messages about our moods or frustrations, about the possibilities to change and develop …
Are there keys simple enough for everyday use that would allow us to make constructive contact with dreams? Of course, each dream is inseparable from the one who sees it, but nevertheless, it is possible to offer a certain matrix that allows each of us to advance in understanding the most intimate dialogue that we have with ourselves. It is in this direction that the writer and journalist Helene Renard has been working for more than 25 years. Supporting hundreds of TV viewers, radio listeners and readers in their quest to decipher their dreams, she developed not a dream book, but a practical technique based on psychology data and an understanding of the symbolic side of dreams. Together with Helen Renard, we created this dream notebook.
IN THE FIRST PART we suggest that you write down your dreams for two weeks (or longer – it’s up to you). Page after page, we will tell you about the individual elements (dominant image, setting, characters…) that should be given special attention. Little by little you will get into the habit of systematically marking these elements in your dreams.
IN THE SECOND PART the most common psychological plots are presented. Do not expect, however, from this diary an accurate and exhaustive explanation of what your dreams mean. Only you can truly interpret them. Little by little, you will learn to be more attentive to the various facets of your dreams and get used to highlighting what is really important to you. Your diary will not be just a notebook – it can become a tool for your development. And this is exactly what we all dream about.
