- Map of Resorts in Cambodia
Cambodia is a truly incredible vacation destination. Over the past decades, the Southeast Asian nation has blossomed, emerging from its troubled past to once again welcome millions of visitors each year. They come for its history, they come for its culture, and they come for its resorts.
The choice of resort accommodation options across Cambodia is amazing. You may want to explore the ruins of Angkor Wat and stay at Amansara, the former guesthouse of the Cambodian king. Perhaps you would prefer a tropical beach experience and a villa overlooking the Gulf of Thailand at the Six Senses Krabey Island.
Couples looking for a romantic getaway may like the seclusion and privacy of a boutique property like the Koh Russey Villas & Resort, while families with children may prefer the endless activities of a large resort, like the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort.
Plan your own adventures with our list of the best resorts in Cambodia.
1. Lotus Blanc Resort
Accommodation: Lotus Blanc Resort
The Lotus Blanc Resort is on Siem Reap’s main road and makes the perfect home base to visit the temples of Angkor. It’s set within beautiful grounds filled with coconut palm trees. You can enjoy the largest swimming pool in Siem Reap or lounge in one of the hammocks.
A stay at the Lotus Blanc gives you seclusion and privacy yet it’s centrally located, so any of the attractions in Siem Reap are only a $2 tuk-tuk ride away.
Rooms and suites are very large with a contemporary colonial-Khmer design. Most have private balconies overlooking the pool. Suites have spa-like bathrooms with huge soaking tubs. All accommodations have high-speed Wi-Fi and 42-inch LCD TVs.
The Lotus Blanc can arrange for all kinds of Angkor experiences and temple tours and visits, mainly focusing on half- and full-day private, guided tours of all the main sites.
Rice Kitchen serves international cuisine and is open for all-day dining. A lobby lounge and poolside bar both serve food, and Damnak Lounge is the resort’s fine-dining restaurant. It’s open for breakfast and dinner with a modern Khmer menu.
Special dining experiences are possible, including a cooking class where you eat the results, as well as a romantic poolside dinner or even a dinner at the Angkor temple. You can also take advantage of 24-hour in-room dining.
2. Six Senses Krabey Island
Accommodation: Six Senses Krabey Island
Reachable only by boat, this ultra-luxury resort near Sihanoukville has 40 freestanding pool villas set against the tropical tree canopy on Krabey Island. Villas have either sea or lush garden views and are available with one or two bedrooms.
A two-villa complex that can accommodate families is also offered. Villas come with a GEM (guest experience manager), a combination butler and concierge who is the first point of contact for anything you might need.
Guests are offered a wide array of experiences, from Khmer cooking classes to kayaking expeditions to deserted islands to night swims with fluorescent plankton. Couples may want to do a romantic couples massage, and families with kids can explore the Grow with Six Senses extensive kids’ activity program.
Two restaurants provide distinctly different dining experiences. AHA offers all-day dining with a menu that features international and pan-Asian cuisine. Tree is their restaurant that focuses on Khmer and Southeast Asian cuisine, especially seafood. Everything is sourced from local and international suppliers committed to sustainable practices, and some ingredients come from the resort’s own organic garden.

5. Samanea Beach Resort & Spa
Accommodation: Samanea Beach Resort & Spa
This boutique beach resort is a great place to stay in Kep, a fascinating city on the ocean in southern Cambodia. Formerly known as the Cambodian Saint Tropez, it was French Indochina’s premier colonial resort destination in the 1950s.
The Samanea is a great place to stay in Cambodia if you want to get away from it all. There are only 12 sumptuous villas, with one or two bedrooms. All the villas have outdoor showers and outdoor soaking tubs, in addition to spa-like inside bathrooms. Family suite villas with two bathrooms for four people are available.
The main restaurant at Samanea, Chankiri, offers both international and Khmer specialties. All-day dining is available in a fine-dining atmosphere. You can choose where to dine: indoors, outdoors on the terrace, by the beach, by the pool, at the end of the long jetty, on the boardwalk in the mangrove forest or in your own villa.
Accommodation: Navutu Dreams Resort & Wellness Retreat
Outside the frenetic tourist area of Siem Reap, yet still a 15-minute tuk-tuk ride to the temples, the Navutu Dreams Resort & Wellness Retreat provides a sanctuary for your mind, body, and soul.
The family-owned, plastic-free resort has 28 rooms and suites, decorated with handmade art and accessories. The location outside town means it has a lot more green space than other Siem Reap resorts.

The basic Explorer rooms are large, with private terraces, the larger Grand Tour rooms and suites have sitting areas and very large outdoor terraces with private gardens. Bathrooms are very modern, with bowl sinks and huge soaking tubs.

The overall setting, within beautiful gardens and three swimming pools, adds to the relaxing vibe. There is a large, freshwater lap pool; a saltwater lounge pool; and a big lagoon-style pool, with a kiddie plunge pool area.
The spa, called Honeycomb, provides massages, facials and skin treatments.

8. Memoire Palace Resort & Spa
Accommodation: Memoire Palace Resort & Spa
This large, luxury palace resort in Siem Reap has its accommodations mainly surrounding a huge, triangular lagoon-style pool with an island in the center.
You can relax on the grass island or take a Khmer cooking class here. It’s the largest freshwater pool in Siem Reap, and there’s a circular saltwater pool in the center of the larger pool. The main pool has chairs and sun beds inside it, so you can enjoy the sun or have a snack without getting out of the water.
Rooms and suites at the Memoire Palace Resort & Spa are stylish and modern, with more color, style, and artwork than you see at other resorts. Some walls and furniture are done in bright, happy colors. This matches the paint scheme found on the exterior of the accommodations, which also have walls painted different colors. Rooms and suites have beautiful spa-like bathrooms with luxury amenities and big soaking tubs.
The Memoire Palace has a large spa, which offers day passes, making it popular with non-guests as well as hotel guests. 11. Amansara
Accommodation: Amansara
Part of the Aman group of ultra-luxury resorts and hotels, Amansara is a very polished luxury resort in Siem Reap, close to the ancient city of Angkor Wat.
The former royal guesthouse of the country’s king, it was a popular place to stay for visiting dignitaries. Jacqueline Onassis (Kennedy) stayed here in 1967, but today’s guests are people like Angelina Jolie and Bono.
It was reborn and rebuilt as an ultra-luxury resort in the early 2000s. The design of the accommodations and the public spaces is striking, a beautiful, no-expense-spared modern reinterpretation of the resort’s mid-century modern architectural roots.
The all-villa resort has three types of villas. The best have their own private pool; some have a large, private grass courtyard. They’re all open-plan design, with huge soaking tubs, and feel more like luxe apartments than hotel rooms.
Amansara’s extremely high prices come with seriously personal service and a 5:1 staff-to-guest ratio. They also come with half board – breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate. There’s a large restaurant/dining room (also beautifully designed) where you take your meals. You can also eat in your villa, or Amansara can arrange dining experiences at the temples or on a boat on Lake Tonle Sap.
At Amansara, it’s all about bespoke experiences. Do you want to do a sunrise balloon ride and breakfast over the temples? No problem. Do you want to visit a remote temple by Jeep and be the only one there? They can set it up.
