New life begins when we get rid of the old. Take a close look at your home. Surely you have accumulated a huge number of useless things that you can part with. Take a fresh look at them and stop being Plyushkin.
New Year is a great time for renewal. Moreover, there is time for this – as many as 10 days of vacation. Let’s figure out how to free your home and head from unnecessary objects and thoughts that clutter up living quarters and block the ability to move on. After all, psychologists not in vain argue that unwillingness to get rid of things shows a person’s fear of change and the inflexibility of his thinking.
In order for the dump of unnecessary things to be outside your home, you need at least two days. It is necessary to mentally prepare for the process, since digging in cabinets, desks and dressers is a very tedious task. You can start parsing what you have acquired in parallel with cleaning the house. And then, by the holiday, your house will shine with cleanliness and cleared space. Be prepared that by the end of the cleaning you will be squeezed out like a lemon, so prepare yourself something pleasant for the evening – watching your favorite movie or a bubble bath. You have accomplished a feat and deserve a reward.
To make it easier to cope with the task, break the whole house into small sectors: kitchen, living room, bedroom, corridor and start parsing the rubble in turn.
To begin with, you can walk through all the rooms and collect the same type of things in several boxes and sort them according to this principle: throw them away, give them to relatives and friends, take them to the country house.
And here is a list of things to throw away
Clothes that don’t give you any pleasure. Look especially at clothes and shoes that have not been worn for over two years. An exception can be made for a wedding dress and 1-2 favorite things.
Archives and mood boards: once very important documents, letters, checks and receipts, magazine clippings and photographs, postcards and memos.
Unnecessary boxes and packing ribbons.
Old or boring bedding. You need to go to bed with pleasure, not irritation.
Cosmetics: check the expiration date of cosmetics, it is better to throw out expired varnishes and mascaras.
Gifts and souvenirs: this is one of the most problematic categories, since these objects directly or indirectly remind us of something. They are financially or aesthetically valuable, so you don’t raise your hand to throw them away. They can be given to friends who definitely need them or sent to charity.
Miscellaneous: old newspapers, worn-out shoes, unidentified keys, empty bottles of perfume and various items that were piled on the shelves of the dresser during the year in a hurry to work.
Dishes: cups and plates that are cracked or chipped. They carry nothing but quarrels and discord.
Devices and devices: non-working mixers, coffee grinders, juicers and electric kettles. New appliances are sometimes much cheaper than repairing old appliances.
“Package with sachets”, which exists only in Russian culture and which accumulates for months.
First Aid Kit: expired medicines and ointments.
Non-functional items sent to the balcony or garage are not considered discarded!
Strategic reserves: old spices that have already lost their smell. Canned food and cereals that you forgot about.
Hygiene products: bottles of shampoos and hair masks that did not fit you, but are still in the bathroom, shower gels that you also stopped using for unknown reasons, face masks bought in incomprehensible impulses, and other items that you pushed into the end shelves and safely forgotten.
Anything that has ceased to be enjoyable or suitable for the interior: decor, candles, exercise equipment, glasses that just sit on the shelf, empty flower pots and other items that take up extra space.
