They could play Disney princesses, fairies or elves without makeup. The heroines of the Woman`s Day collection know that their strength lies in their fragile and delicate appearance!
Ekaterina Bulavina, 20 years old, student, model
– I developed a positive attitude to my appearance after I became a model. Then the realization came that the individuality of a person makes him beautiful. With the acceptance of myself, the attitude towards everything around has changed: now I am always in a good mood and admire the people around me.
I began to hear compliments more often. But every time I am pleased. Not a day goes by without comparing with a doll or with one of the fairy-tale characters: Rapunzel, Merida from the cartoon “Brave”, Ariel, or the heroines of Russian folk tales.
Usually we compare the appearance with a certain ideal, but I noticed that the correct, ideal appearance is not remembered. Much more I like people with atypical beauty and interesting appearance: it can be a scattering of freckles, thick eyebrows or high cheekbones. The trend for individuality really exists now – that is why such stars as Liv Tyler, Tilda Swinton, Lily Cole or Chantelle Brown-Young have achieved success. Therefore, it is important for me in a person how he presents himself and how much he accepts his nature.
Ekaterina the Great, senior engineer
– I work in the forestry department, so I prefer a discreet style of clothing, a minimum of accessories and make-up: concealer, transparent matting powder, a little blush, mascara and lip balm. Probably, this is one of the reasons why they take me seriously and during my vacation the head of the department is appointed to perform his duties.
I often hear compliments, they praise the figure, hair, smile, but the most pleasant thing is to hear compliments from women. My husband said that he was attracted by my blue eyes. Some people think that I look like Yulia Mikhalkova from Uralskiye dumplings.
I am often told that I have a cute appearance. But if I don’t like something or is not going according to plan, I quickly lose my temper. But I’m quick-witted. Friends think I’m too serious, but I can have fun – quite cheerful and happy.
I consider beautiful smiling girls with dimples on their cheeks, well-groomed. I like an informal appearance – tattoos, piercings, colored hair, because I myself am afraid to experiment, and for the first time in my life I dyed my hair a week ago. And even that was almost imperceptible!
Julia Lebedeva, 23 years old, photographer
– I am a copy of my beloved dad, he has the same huge eyes. If at school many were teased for standing out, this was not the case with me. But now there are bad comments on Instagram, which I do not pay attention to, because these are just social networks, and you will not be nice to everyone.
There are more compliments in my life. It’s my eyes that notice everything. Usually, for greater expressiveness, I paint them with a black pencil. And, in principle, I am satisfied with my appearance, but I always want to strive for the best. This is especially true for the figure.
I met my husband in a common company, we started dating only 2-3 years later, so I can’t say that I attracted his eyes or something else in my appearance. Now he says that he fell in love with me at first sight and was waiting for a better moment. We are raising a daughter who is just a copy of her husband. But I hope that he will take something from me too.
Valeria Fayezova, 26 years old, sales assistant
– Five years ago, I considered myself beautiful, although I was 13 kg more than now. But the canons have changed, and I don’t fit into the new ones. For example, my eyes are set a little closer than it is now fashionable.
Although, like any girl, when I lose weight, I feel like a million. The main thing is to have a scale. And when you see that the arrow is creeping up, you should limit yourself. And then you just get inspired by the result, and eat not the whole hamburger, but half (laughs).
In myself, I love the inner world, fantasy more. There is a philosophical saying that says that a person becomes beautiful when you get to know him personally. It happens that you think that there is nothing in a person, and then you reveal whole worlds in him!
In me, those around me pay attention to the unusual color of the iris of the eyes. Some passers-by even stop to look me in the eye! Of course, this is not my merit, but the eyes are my ice breaker. And two years ago, my knee-length hair could have been such a decoy. I have been growing them since childhood, but recently I decided to cut the length by shoulder blades to make it look more aesthetically pleasing.
Alexandra Gorbatova, 22, student, model
– Mom says that I was a beautiful child, but then came the transitional age, which does not really paint anyone. Then I didn’t even like the color of my hair – I thought it was too bright. But over time, she realized that she was beautiful. Yes, people around me often talk about it. Weigh out the most common compliments about bottomless eyes and bright hair. Because of them, I was even compared to Jesse from Toy Story. I assess myself adequately, but on the whole I am satisfied with my appearance.
The first thing that I myself draw attention to in people is a smile. If a person smiles, it means that he has a positive attitude and it will be easy to communicate with him. Beauty for me is not in the first place, it depends on nature or the virtuoso skills of plastic surgeons. A girl first of all should be well-groomed, and this is within the power of everyone.
Ruzanna Shakhnazaryan, 26 years old, TV presenter
– Once I took part in a documentary. I was philosophizing on camera, and suddenly it struck me on a sentimental note, so much so that I shed a tear. When my friends saw it, they said that they saw me like this for the first time: they had an image of a strong and strong-willed girl. But even a strong-willed girl is, first of all, a girl.
Often people say they thought I was arrogant and proud. But having learned better, they admit that they were mistaken. I tried to find out why this is happening, they say – “strong” look.
Compliments, of course, I hear often. Basically, they say that I am beautiful, smart and well-mannered. Also notice the eyes, smile and thick, long hair that make me look like an Indian actress. I am even predicted to be successful in Bollywood (laughs)! A favorite of comparisons in appearance and assertive character is the Indian actress Ham Malini.
It’s funny, among the Armenians I am considered fair, with European features. And among the Russian contingent – dark and eastern. Tradition is very important to me. For example, I love our cuisine. In my student years, my friends came to me and were perplexed by the number of delicious dishes: “Ruzanna, is it like this every day?”. I nodded in the affirmative, and they wondered how it didn’t “blow up” me. I think my body is just used to eating like that – when on January 2 the girls are already sweating in the gym, Ruzanna sits at home and eats salads, while not getting fat – I hope not to jinx it (laughs)!
Although, having come to television, I threw off about 10 kilograms. I do not limit myself either in the variety of products or in their quantity. I just keep the balance: if I ate deliciously today, then tomorrow I need to cut down on the number of calories and move more.
As a child, my mother forbade me to paint and pluck my eyebrows. Now I am grateful to my mother: the longer the bud opens, the more beautiful and longer it blooms. I don’t use any foundation, powder, or blush. So I advise girls not to rush to grow up – let everything go on as usual.
Anastasia Bertser, 20 years old, model, student
– I am absolutely satisfied with my appearance. But in order to achieve the result that can be seen now, I made quite a lot of effort – I lost 30 kg! True, it almost drove me to anerexia …
My weight loss story began in the summer of 2013, when I went with friends to Sochi. There I felt uncomfortable on the beach, in other words, a hippopotamus … But we moved a lot there, so I lost a lot of kilograms. Arriving home, I was so inspired by the result that I asked myself the question: “What prevents me from making the figure I want to see every day in the mirror?” And on the advice of a ballerina friend, she went on a buckwheat diet. And for a month she chewed buckwheat steamed for the night in the morning and in the afternoon. This gave a very good result. But my weight loss is not healthy and balanced, so I will not advise what happened next – this is everyone’s choice.
I chose the toughest and heaviest diets for a quick effect. This continued until the New Year. Even then, the emotional background was insanely reeling – I began to see a minus in every centimeter of my body. I thought I was fat in any form! After the holidays, I went on a drinking diet for a month – green tea and sugar-free yoghurts, water and low-calorie smoothies. But when the number on the scales got up, I started having hysterics …
So I went on hunger: for a whole month – only water, green tea and coffee. This, of course, did not give anything good – I was obsessed with my appearance. It seemed to me that I was huge and hideously awful. Emotional breakdowns began to occur. When my body already began to sound the alarm (hair fell out in patches, I fainted from lack of vitality), I woke up – and began to slowly return to the diet.
I am one of the lucky few who came out of the water dry: my extreme weight loss did not entail serious consequences. Of course, I have recovered to normal size, but still I keep track of what I eat and in what quantity. I adhere to the rules of a healthy diet. Very often I hear: “How beautiful you are!”
Ekaterina Podkovyrkina, 23 years old, singer
– First of all, I pay attention to how a person presents himself, and with what energy he presents himself. The main thing is that he is easy to communicate and knows how to express his thoughts well. Of course, I admire if a girl takes care of herself, has a certain style, and even better stands out from others – it’s very cool!
I believe that there is no limit to perfection, so I would change something in myself now. For example, I started to get slimmer … However, I like myself the way I am. In childhood, of course, there were some complexes, but this is probably something deeply adolescent.
Tatiana Roshak, 29 years old, educator, model
– I am 29 years old, but I feel like 15. By education – a teacher, but practically did not work in my profession. I recently moved to Yekaterinburg, I am from Ukraine. She got married here – nowadays princes exist only far away (laughs)!
Now my parents are far away, I really miss them. At such moments, you begin to value your loved ones even more. Therefore, I am glad that I am like my father, both externally and internally. He is beautiful, so they often compliment me and come up to meet on the street. I am grateful to my dad for long legs, gorgeous hair and, of course, blue eyes! I was even compared to Ornella Muti and Angelina Jolie.
But I didn’t always consider myself beautiful. On the contrary, at school I was teased, and the boys did not pay attention at all. It was only in high school that I began to notice the views of the opposite sex. And since then I have never felt a lack of male attention.
I have a lot of different hobbies, one of them is modeling, I also like to draw, knit, embroider. And my husband strongly supports me in all my endeavors.
Yana Pankovskaya, 21, student, blogger, dance coach
– I am completely satisfied with myself and love myself the way I am. But you can’t relax, so the schedule includes constant sports, dancing, skin and hair care. A good manicure and eyelashes always emphasize the appearance of any girl. I also like the girls’ blue eyes and dimpled cheeks.
I always note good makeup, properly selected and stylish clothes, clean hair.
I myself love to do something with my hair. I often tint them. The last time I was with pink hair. Therefore, they call me either Cinderella or the Little Mermaid. Style, delicious perfume and well-groomed hair are also often praised.
Juliet Diaghileva, 25, model
– The nickname Malvina has stuck to me since school. The institute also called it that. And about Juliet – all the polls, when meeting each other, ask “Where is your Romeo?” But it doesn’t annoy me, it amuses me. And I always come up with new comic answers to this question.
My dad chose the name. He explained that he loved my mother very much, and wanted to call my daughter by the same name. But everyone was against the second Julia, then he decided to “Americanize” the name, because Julia in English is Julia.
To be honest, there was a big scandal between the families about my name. Yes, and I myself was uncomfortable until the age of 15, and I introduced myself to everyone as Julia. And those who have known me for many years still call me that. But as I grew up, I fell in love with my real name!
I am also pleased with my appearance. Compliments are often spoken, of course. Mainly about my appearance and achievements in the fitness club, because I am in great shape – I go to the gym 5 times a week.
They also say that I am smart. People are impressed by a beautiful and intelligent girl, because I have two higher legal degrees, and I am proud of them. She herself wrote a dissertation, which is also surprising to those around her. But there is no limit to perfection, and I endlessly study in a variety of areas: at the School of Actors at the Sverdlovsk Film Studio, at the Academy of Presenters.
Until the age of 24, I lisped a lot, and I considered it the main complex in myself. I liked public speaking and the work of TV presenters, and I looked at them only with thoughts of “in the next life.” But having pulled herself together, she began to read tongue twisters on her own at home and learned to pronounce the letter “r”! This is the main achievement for me. Now I speak purely and plan to enter a theater institute!
Polina Reshetnikova, 28 years old, designer, artist
– Outwardly, I look very much like my mother, only she is dark, and I am fair. In high school, it was often said that I looked like the singer Valeria, and at the institute – that I looked like Emma Bunton from the Spice Girls. And her husband sometimes calls Ponochka from Duck Tales. Probably, I would associate myself with her – there are some similarities.
My daughter in the kindergarten told everyone that her mother was Elsa from Frozen, and asked me to braid a braid so that everyone would believe it. Probably, for every child, his mother is the ideal of beauty and a favorite character all rolled into one.
I like everything about myself, I would not want to change anything. I am what I am, beautiful or not, it’s not for me to judge. The concept of beauty, in general, is a very subjective thing.
Anna Isaeva, 23 years old, journalist
– When I was little, I was very offended by other children, when I was generally compared with someone, but with age it passed. In the lower grades I was called the Hamster for round cheeks, but in the older grades it passed.
But in my student years, the nickname Gadget firmly stuck to me. When we met, my current friend said that I remind him of someone. And after a while he issued: “Gadget from the animated series” Chip and Dale Rush to the Rescue “! A new nickname has spread throughout our company, and even now, after graduating from university, my friends still call me that.
