According to statistics from American researchers, more than 75 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 65 reported having a headache during the year. And more than 30 percent of them reported suffering from migraines. To relieve headaches or migraines, which are often accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light, doctors say that you can just stick to a special diet.
Foods to help get rid of migraines
Meat. This food is high in coenzyme Q10 and is known to be involved in mitochondrial energy production, which can be impaired in people with migraines.
Cherry. This sweet fruit contains many polyphenol antioxidants that are known to reduce inflammation, a major factor in headaches and migraines. Several studies have found a decrease in antioxidant activity and an increase in oxidative stress in patients with chronic migraine headaches and drug overuse.
Cucumbers. They are 96 percent water and can help prevent dehydration, a known cause of many headaches. The reason is when the body is dehydrated, the brain temporarily contracts and contracts, causing pain.
A fish. Sardines, tuna, mackerel, herring, and salmon are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce the frequency of headaches. In one study by American scientists, it was found that 74 percent of adolescents who took omega-3 fish oil had a decrease in the frequency and duration of headaches.
Water. To avoid headaches, experts advise sticking to the standard 2 liters of clean water a day. Mild dehydration can cause fatigue and low energy.
Quinoa. The high iron content of quinoa – 15 percent of the RDI – may protect against the iron deficiency anemia associated with migraines.
Fig. This cereal is rich in vitamins that affect the state of the nervous system and fight headaches.
Broccoli. This product is rich in B vitamins, and it is their lack that most often leads to a breakdown and, as a result, headaches.
Spinach. It is considered a storehouse of minerals, and thanks to vitamin B2, it reduces blood pressure and relieves migraines.
Almonds… This nut contains magnesium, which relieves cramping and pressure.
