Cuban Juana Bautista Ridriguez turned 125 on Tuesday and is possibly the oldest person in the world, Cuban media reported on Tuesday.
According to reports from the official AIN agency, the woman was born on February 2, 1885 in the province of Granma in the east of the country, where she lives to this day. This is confirmed by the register of residents of her native village of Campechueli.
The aged Cuban, called Candulia by his relatives, is not included in the list of the most advanced people by the Guinness Book of Records. According to this source, the oldest man in history was French Jeanne Calment, who died in 1997 at the age of 122, while the oldest living person today is 114-year-old Japanese Kama Chinen.
As reported by AIN, Candulia is in good health and expects to live for many more years. He attributes his longevity to clean, country air, a diet rich in meat and a heart that is always full of love for loved ones.
Only one of her three children is alive, but Kubanka has six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. (PAP)
