12-year-old Jaycee asked to attend the birth when her mother was pregnant with her second child. Then she was refused – they decided that the girl was too small. When the Carraway family decided to have a third child, Jaycee again took up the persuasion.
“I even cried – I thought that they would not take me again to see how my brother was born, because I’m still little,” Jaycee said.
Mom thought, thought and agreed. Shocking his doctor at the same time – he rarely had to see this.
“You won’t let her be with you when I give birth, won’t you?” Didi asked.
“What? No!” – answered Dr. Wolff, who was supposed to take delivery. But then he changed his mind.
At first, it was planned that Jaycee would simply be present in the ward during childbirth. But … the girl got even more than she wanted. As my mother said three times, the doctor asked Jaycee if she would like to stand next to him when he accepts the baby. She agreed, of course! And she took part in the process: Dr. Wolf said what to do, and she did.
“He really let me get the baby out! It was like playing doctor, but for real. This is real! To be honest, I was very nervous, ”Jaycee recalls excitedly.
The girl also cut the umbilical cord herself – her father filmed the process on camera.
As Didi later said, her daughter’s participation helped her to endure the pain – for some reason the epidural anesthesia did not work.
“I saw the emotion on Jayce’s face. And it made me cry. Such a wonderful moment … ”Didi does not regret the decision to take her daughter with him.
A boy weighing 3350 grams was safely born. They named him Casey.
“I was scared – what if I did something wrong. But it was the best moment in my life, ”says the birth of his brother Jaycee.
By the way, Jaycee was planning to become a veterinarian. But now she is thinking about a career as an obstetrician-gynecologist. Which, in general, is not surprising.
