Briefly about the drink
Red vermouth is a blended medium-strength drink flavored with herbs with a specific wormwood bitter aftertaste.
At its core, vermouth is a sweet dessert wine, so the wine materials for its preparation are processed in the same way as for fortified grape drinks.
Cinzano Vermouth Rosso
A classic red vermouth based on Trebbiano wine from the Italian province of Ravenna and a combination of various herbs and spices.
Vermouth dark red. The taste is pronounced, citrus with a pleasant bitter aftertaste. The aroma has delicious sweetish notes of spices, flowers, herbs and fruits.
Cinzano vermouths first appeared in 1757 in Turin, when the brothers Carlo Stefano Cinzano and Giovanni Giacomo created the recipe for Rosso, a red vermouth composed of aromatic herbs growing in the Alps.

Carpano Antica Formula
Vermouth has a rich, thick ruby-red color with a soft, sweet taste, which can be traced tones of spices, cloves, cinnamon and delicate notes of vanilla. The aftertaste is refined, delicate, long. The aroma of vermouth is generous with hints of cloves, cinnamon and vanilla, tones of dried fruits and spices.
The history of Carpano vermouth began back in 1786 in the Italian city of Turin, where the herbalist Antonio Benedetto Carpano made his first vermouth, combining herbs, spices and white wine (moscatel) in one drink.
Initially, this drink was conceived as a more refined competitor to the local red wine. The drink quickly gained great popularity, the Caprano store on Piazza Castello worked around the clock. Carpano also acquired the status of supplier to the royal court of Vittorio Amedeo III.
In 2001, Carpano became wholly owned by Fratelli Branca Distilleri and production was moved to Milan. In fact, Carpano is the founder of the famous Turin vermouth.

Antica Torino Vermouth Of Turin
Vermouth is a clear, bright amber-yellow color with a brick tint.
The taste is powerful, deep, spicy, perfectly balanced, with bright sweetness and pleasant bitterness, notes of cinchona bark, orange and orange peel, artemisia flowers, ginger root, sandalwood, nutmeg and vanilla. The finish is warm and fresh.
The aroma is spicy and multi-layered with notes of cinchona bark, hints of coriander, bitter orange peel, camphor, rosemary, sandalwood, musk, nutmeg, woods and sweet nuances of caramel and vanilla.
Cocchi was founded in 1891 by Tuscan confectioner Giulio Cocchi. The winery produces vermouths, aperitifs and Piedmontese sparkling wines in full accordance with the best traditions of the province of Asti. The winery’s products have been sold on five continents for many years.
In 2012 Giulio Cocchi’s company turned 121 years old. The long and, most importantly, continuous activity of the winery has given her the right to be inscribed in the honorary National Register of Historical Companies of Italy.

Vermouth Lustau
Red vermouth, which has a balanced, velvety taste with spicy bitterness and a delicate nutty aftertaste. The aroma is juicy, expressive with dominant hints of ripe fruit, lemon, herbs and smoke.

Noilly Prat Red
Noilly Prat Rouge is made using 29 different herbs and spices. Among them are sweet orange from Spain, cinnamon from Sri Lanka, cinchona bark from Ecuador, cloves from Madagascar and cocoa beans from Venezuela.
The world-famous Noilly Prat vermouth was created in 1813 by the French wine merchant Joseph Noilly. He became the inventor of France’s first vermouth, and in 1850 his son Louis founded the La Maison Noilly Prat winery in the fishing village of Marseillan, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Louis later became business partners with his son-in-law Claudius Prat in a joint venture called Noilly Prat & Cie. In 1865 Anne-Rosin Prat, daughter of Louis, took over the management of the firm. The Noilly Prat brand is now owned by Bacardi.

Red Gancia
Ruby-red vermouth with dominating notes of spices on the palate and a light, laid-back aroma of wormwood.
The Italian wine house Gancia was founded in 1850 by the inventor of the first white vermouth in Italy, Carlo Gancia. The House of Gança during the Kingdom of Italy was chosen in 1870 as the exclusive supplier of the court. The house received the right to use the coat of arms of the monarchy. Also, it was the Gancha House that was chosen as the supplier of the Vatican in 1924 and received the right to use the coat of arms of the Pope. In 1951 Gancia House was declared the official supplier of the Swedish Royal Court.
Today, the house of Ganca, which is the world leader in the production of sparkling wines, vermouth and aperitifs, supplies its products to more than 60 countries around the world.

Speaking of “Contratto”, it is impossible not to mention their unique cellars … These underground tunnels, made inside a limestone-tuff hill at a depth of 32 meters, occupy a fabulously huge area (about 5 thousand square meters). Due to such a deep location, a stable temperature of 13 ° C is maintained in the dungeons all year round and natural humidity is maintained. Since 2011, these cellars have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and are under state protection.

Carpano Brothers Branca Punt and Mes

The recipe combined herbs and spices with nutmeg. Soon Antonio opened his own wine shop, which, by the will of fate, was located directly opposite the Royal Palace.

Gran Torino Rosso

The Ferrero family started the production of the excellent Gran Torino vermouths in 1861 in the central region of Turin. Vermouth Routin Original Red
The French Distillerie des Alpes has been producing classic wine drinks since the late 19th century.
