11th week of pregnancy – course

You must have rounded your belly by now. It is not the responsibility of the baby itself, which measures only a few centimeters, but the growing uterus and the growing placenta, which will start functioning at any moment. If this is not your first pregnancy, your abdominal wall will loosen much earlier and the rounding will be more visible. If this is your first baby and you are slim and have developed abdominal muscles, the rounding may not be visible at all in the 11th week of pregnancy.

You may feel like a baby is moving in your belly. It is true, but it is not his movements that you feel. There are many changes in your belly, including the loosening of the shells mentioned above, which can provide you with completely new sensations that are misinterpreted as baby movements.

In the 11th week of pregnancy, the fetus measures over 5 cm. Remember that this is the length of the CRL, which is the distance between the top of his head and the end of his buttocks. Measuring your toddler’s entire length – from head to toe – would be impossible as he or she has cramped legs.

11rd week of pregnancy – baby’s development

Your baby’s silhouette is changing more and more. In the 11th week of pregnancy, the neck lengthens, so that the chin no longer constantly falls towards the chest. The sexual lump in boys begins to transform into a penis. This is possible due to the fact that the testicles produce testosterone at such an early stage! Thanks to his presence, male sexual characteristics develop. Both boys and girls already have nipples!

The eyes are constantly covered with lids and the ears move slightly upward. It is worth emphasizing that in the 11th week of pregnancy, the eyeball is still developing, but the middle and inner ear are “ready”. Changes also take place in the nose, which already has nostrils, and olfactory cells develop inside it.

The toddler closes and opens his mouth, and also moves his tongue. In the gums, milk milk buds appear, which will break through them only a few months after birth. Tissues are also starting to mineralize, which will harden and become bones.

The skin changes, in which there are already receptors that are sensitive to touch. It becomes less transparent and takes on density. In the 11th week of pregnancy, the beginnings of structures that are products of the skin begin to appear in it. It’s about nail beds and hair follicles. The hair and nails themselves will appear later.

The baby’s internal organs also change. The intestines are covered with additional lining, and the pancreas also performs functions.

To support the proper development of pregnancy, it is worth reaching for appropriate supplementation. We recommend, for example, LittleMe Day + LittleMe Night Health Labs – for the benefit of mother and baby.

11th week of pregnancy – changes in the female body

You have long noticed that you have to go to the bathroom more often. It was the result of the redoubled work of the kidneys, which were even more intensely than usual in removing harmful substances from your body. Now the uterus, which is the size of a grapefruit at the 11th week of pregnancy, is also pressing against your bladder. And this is just the beginning – at the end of your pregnancy, it will be much bigger.

Of course, this doesn’t mean you are allowed to drink less. You must drink at least two liters of fluid (preferably still mineral water) a day, and even more if the weather is hot. Otherwise, you can dehydrate your body. You should avoid beverages that can increase urine production, such as caffeine and its derivatives (coffee, tea or colored carbonated drinks). Before leaving the house, it is worth making sure that you will have no problems using the toilet in the place you are going to.

In the 11th week of pregnancy, you may get the impression that something disturbing is happening in your mouth. You produce more saliva than usual, and your gums may also feel tender. You shouldn’t be concerned about this, it’s normal. Your gums may even bleed later in your pregnancy. Remember not to treat them with a too hard brush and use mild toothpaste.

Some women develop linea nigra as early as the 11th week of pregnancy. It is a dark line that runs from the pubic mound to the navel and sometimes even much higher. This is due to the production of more melanotropin, a hormone that makes the skin contain more melanin pigment. Linea nigra does not appear in all women; it can be observed more often in ladies with dark complexion. The “line” on the belly disappears a few months after the baby is born.

The same is true for hairs that may appear in unusual places, for example on the stomach. Some ladies even complain about the presence of dark hairs on their faces. It may be reassuring to know that the hair on your head at 11 weeks of pregnancy is probably prettier than ever.

At this stage, you need to be especially careful about dizziness. They can be caused by both weakness resulting from constant vomiting and a significant increase in blood pressure. Remember to sit down whenever you feel worse and rest for a moment. “Testing” your abilities in the 11th week of pregnancy is a very bad idea, because a fall could be catastrophic for a toddler.

Dizziness can also be accompanied by quite severe headaches, which can be the result of both hormonal changes in your body and pressure fluctuations. If you have ever had problems with your blood pressure before, check it regularly. If your blood pressure is normal but your head hurts, try to rest: sit down and breathe deeply, and if there is a chance, try to sleep or go for a walk. Also remember that you are not allowed to take any medications without first consulting a specialist doctor.

During the 11th week of pregnancy, you feel sick all the time, but this should soon disappear. Unfortunately, intermittent breast tenderness will be with you until the end of your pregnancy, and some discomforts will also remain until you stop breastfeeding.

At the same time, in the 11th week of pregnancy, you may experience fainting, the causes of which are quite complicated. On the one hand, they may be caused by changes in the work of the circulatory system that are natural for pregnancy, and on the other hand, they may be caused by weakness resulting from a lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting or anemia. If you feel faint or unwell, if you feel suddenly dizzy, stop your activity immediately, then sit down (or preferably lie down) and rest, while breathing deeply. If you are in a public place, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Fainting is very dangerous for you. In the moment of fainting, a fall may occur, including head and body injuries.

In addition, it is checked for other malformations, such as neural cleft, which may be the result of too low levels of folic acid in the first trimester.

If this is your first ultrasound, it will be used to assess your pregnancy age. The doctor will check the general structure of the fetus for any abnormalities, measure the CRL and check the frequency of the tiny heart’s beats.
