- Map of Resorts in St. Barths
Staying on stunning Saint Barthélemy (St. Barths or St. Barts) is not cheap. The majority of the resorts here are boutique affairs that cater to the ultra wealthy, including plenty of celebrities. But you can find good deals. Plus, many will argue that vacationing on the white-sand beaches fronted by clear turquoise lagoons that are perfect for swimming is worth the cost.
The island has a French sophisticated vibe with a side of Caribbean charm, and this is reflected in the resorts as well — you won’t find any high-rise buildings or giant all-inclusive properties. Instead, expect smaller resorts where the emphasis is on privacy, luxury, and super attentive service.
You can also expect to eat really well while on St. Barth’s, with many of the resorts offering high-end French dining.
While it is a super romantic location, St. Barths is also a very family-friendly vacation destination, with nearly all the properties listed here catering to couples, as well as kids. It is also much more dog friendly than other Caribbean islands, with nearly every property accepting pets.
Everyone should experience St. Barths once in a lifetime. Here is our list of the best resorts in St. Barths.
1. Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa
Accommodation: Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa
The luxe and ultra exclusive Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa was the first new build on the island in 20 years when it opened in late 2016.
Set on the eastern end of Grand Cul-de-Sac, one of St. Barth’s most beautiful beaches, the location is perfect. The lagoon in front of the hotel is not only a gorgeous turquoise hue, but also calm and shallow, making it perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and snorkeling.
The rooms and suites are absolutely massive. They are styled with simple furnishings, colorful beach themed photographs, and lots of wood accents. Some have outdoor showers or deep soaking tubs.
If you are traveling in a group or with family, check out the two new six-bedroom villas. Set right on the beach, they have full kitchens and complete privacy.
Amenities are also plentiful. All sorts of activities, from horseback riding to windsurfing and diving, can be arranged.
The main restaurant Aux Amis serves a mix of French and Caribbean-influenced fare. There is also a full-service spa with everything from scrubs to facials to deep tissue massages.
Address: Lieu Dit grand Cul de Sac, 97133 St. Barthelemy
2. Eden Rock – St. Barths
Accommodation: Eden Rock – St. Barths
This storied luxury resort has been welcoming guests for more than half a century now.
The Eden Rock is set on a point surrounded by the clear turquoise water of Saint-Jean bay, and some of the individually styled rooms, suites, and beach houses are built into the rocks behind the soft white-sand beach. Many have private plunge pools. The entire vibe is glamorous chic, and the property hosts its share of celebrities and power players each season — a stay here is not cheap, but oh so worth the splurge.
The two on-site restaurants, On the Rocks and The Sand, at the Eden Rock are managed by famed master chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and, as such, the quality of the food is superb.
There is direct beach access, of course, with sun loungers and umbrellas, and the sea in front of the hotel is great for swimming. There is a diving dock a little ways for guests, and there is also good snorkeling around the point.
If you’d rather chill by the pool, the Eden Rock faces the sea. Or book a treatment at the luxe spa. If you are traveling with kids, the Eden Rock is family friendly, and babysitting services can be arranged.
Address: Baie de St-Jean, St. Jean 97133 St. Barthelemy

On beautiful Grand Cul de Sac beach, Le Sereno is an intimate 5-star property. The resort has just 39 rooms and three villas, and nearly all have gorgeous views of the aquamarine lagoon in front of the resort.
The interior decor is modern elegant with romantic (but practical) touches like mosquito-net-draped beds, and wood furnishings and accents. All rooms are very spacious and airy. We love the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that open onto furnished wooden decks or balconies.
Grab dinner at the Michelin-starred Ristorante al Mare, which has an open-air dining room with panoramic sea views, or at Plage, which sits right on the sand under coconut palms. You can also indulge in a massage or other treatment at The Spa by Valmont, which has a beachfront treatment room.

Set on the hillside above Colombier Beach at the northwest tip of the island, Le P’tit Morne is one of the most affordable places to sleep in St. Barths.
The rooms here are nothing fancy, but when you have such beautiful outdoor surroundings, you don’t really need much more than what they offer, which includes air-conditioning, a kitchenette, and a fridge. Many have ocean views.
Amenities include a swimming pool overlooking the sea below. A car is really needed here, however, as the hotel is not directly on the beach. There is also no on-site dining option, although there are restaurants nearby in Colombier.
