The first vegan hotel in the UK, the Saorsa 1875, opens in the Scottish town of Pitlochry, catering to the environmentally conscious and plant-based guests.
“We strive to prove that great food doesn’t have to be to the detriment of animals or the planet,” says the hotel’s creators.
The vegan philosophy extends to all aspects of the establishment. So, the interior, bedding, toiletries, cleaning products and, of course, food and drinks – everything here is exclusively vegan and does not contain animal products.
All food served at the hotel is organic and sourced from the hotel’s garden or local farms. The management of the hotel hopes that dinners will be especially warm and in addition to delicious food, there will often be stories within the walls of the hotel that will be shared by their guests.
By the way, the hotel menu changes daily, but it is always a choice of 5 courses.
The hotel works closely with animal shelters and charities to raise funds, and you can check in with pets. Saorsa 1875 also plans to invite renowned vegetarian chefs from across the UK for special dinners.
A good future is already being predicted for this hotel. After all, the number of vegans living in the UK is estimated at 3,5 million and continues to grow.
Let’s remind, earlier we talked about a Japanese hotel dedicated to udon noodles, as well as a sausage hotel in Germany.
