100 Solidarity Tapas to help those most in need

Christmas is approaching and the solidarity actions that take place on these dates fill the hearts of all of us who participate in them.

In this sense, a very representative culinary action begins today, hand in hand with the Thyme Foundation and at Action Against Hunger, “La TAPA SOLIDARIA” has been created.

From December 15 to March 15, 2015, more than 100 hospitality establishments, bars, restaurants, inns, etc … will offer their snacks with a mission, to donate part of the collection of these delicacies to a social work that is so necessary .

All the pinchos or tapas have a common purpose, to be able to contribute their € 0.50 so that the organizing entities allocate the funds raised to prevent, diagnose and treat child malnutrition in the case of Action Against Hunger and to make a significant investment in a school of Madrid cuisine to train young people in the hospitality profession.

The Solidarity Tapa has its origin in the concept of Beer + Tapa that for years has been a success in the city of Barcelona and now it is also installed in the Capital of Spain. Its objective is very simple:

We visited bars and ordered two beers. We write down the price of the beer, and we value the cap. Then we tell you about it.

To carry out the project, many establishments are already signed up and offering their creations and the support shown by Chic and Cheap, Espacio Madrid, Eat and Love, Birrabox and De olla y Sartén, so that the campaign has been possible.

We can highlight many, but this is a selection of the hundred that we can go to enjoy their snacks and at the same time help those most in need:

  • The Basket (Óscar Velasco)
  • Gastro-tavern La Berenjena (Rebeca Hernández)
  • La Gastrocroquetería de Chema.
  • La Pecera (Circle of Fine Arts)
  • The Qüenco
  • To eat apart
  • Gabino’s Tortillas.
  • Oh Bla Bla!.

We link the rest of the affiliated establishments that participate in the conference here through the Tapa Solidaria website.
