Today we are getting acquainted with 10 new wonders of the world that can definitely claim the attention of travelers.
10 Ice towers and caves of Mount Erebus
Did you know that there are ancient volcanoes in Antarctica? For example, Erebus is the second largest, and even resumed activity since 1972.
It is surrounded by ice towers created by nature as a result of steam emissions. Just imagine – blocks of ice from which steam comes!
Additionally, travelers are attracted by ice caves, which naturally formed around the volcano. They are all dotted with underground chambers with an extraordinary blue.
9. Rock-tents of Kasha-Katuwe
Here’s one reason to go on vacation to New Mexico! Local rock-tents are one of the most ancient mountains on the planet, as they were formed about 7 million years ago.
A volcanic explosion contributed to the formation of the area, which spread ash and a pyroclastic flow. Further, nature was already working with the “material” – thanks to erosion, centuries-old rains and weathering, a unique geography was formed.
The pointed stones, which the locals called “white cliffs”, have different heights (the largest reach 30 meters).
8. Banaue Rice Terraces, Philippines
Relatively young (only 2 thousand years old) terraces were artificially created in the Philippine Mount Ifugao by ancient people. The Filipinos themselves have long referred to these formations as the 8th wonder of the world.
For the construction of terraces, primitive equipment was used, and most of it was done by hand. They rise 1,5 km above sea level and cover more than 10 square meters. kilometers of mountain slopes. Rice terraces are fed from irrigation canals that run from tropical forests.
Local residents respect the climate of the area, so they are happy to cultivate the soil, growing vegetables and rice.
7. Lion Rock Sigiriya, Sri Lanka
In fact, Sigiriya was once the territory of a palace and a fortress that towered in the center of the Matale district. Around you can observe the remains of reservoirs, structures, gardens, communications and other structures.
You can see the most ancient frescoes on the Lion Rock. It was erected during the reign of King Kassapa I, who ruled BC. The population at that time used the rock as a mountain monastery.
Now Sigiriya is a World Heritage Site of the country and attracts tourists from all over the world.
6. Lechugia Cave
Few people know the cave as a wonder of the world, but tourists have already explored the area and are gradually starting to attract the attention of the people. It is not surprising that the oldest unique formation was again found in the mysterious New Mexico.
The cave is over 134 miles long. Characterized by amazing crystal structures formed from aragonite and natural gypsum.
The cave was discovered for the first time in 1986, and before that it had stood absolutely untouched for hundreds of millions of years.
5. Krubera Cave
This unprecedented wonder of the world is located in the region of the Mountain Range with the “fragrant” name Arabica somewhere in Abkhazia. Now the cave is the deepest on the planet, because its depth is 2,191 m.
Another name for it is the “Crow’s Cave”, since the birds really chose a secluded and hidden place for their nesting.

In a beautiful country, there is a lot to see, but the National Park, surrounded by a wonder of the world – the Valley of Flowers, deserves special attention.
Just imagine tall peaks that are hidden somewhere in the flakes of clouds, and the slopes are covered with carpets of bright and fragrant vegetation. By the way, there are quite rare specimens of flora here.
In the Valley you can admire not only beautiful flowers, but also gradually disappearing and protected species of animals, such as snow leopard, blue sheep, Asian black bear and others.
3. Valley of Glencoe in Scotland
A beautiful landscape is spread in the northern region of Scotland. It is a narrowed river valley, which is decorated with a variety of flora.
From the high peaks that surround the clear waters of the river, breathtaking panoramas come off. A great place for hiking and outdoor enthusiasts.
2. Wulingyuan in China
Tourists are attracted by about 3 thousand hefty sandstone pillars that look like towers. In height, each can reach more than 200 meters.
They consist of sandstone and quartzite – geographers call such structures “karst”. Wulingyuan is a UNESCO heritage site, however, few people still know about its existence.

An amazing national park of almost 30 hectares will take your breath away with its open lakes, ancient caves and turbulent waterfalls.
Just imagine the deep blue waters with a subtle green sheen – such landscapes are worth it to book a tour to Croatia now. In the park there are forests of spruce and beech, where forest cats, rare birds, roe deer imposingly walk.
The park is beautiful even in winter when the lakes and waterfalls freeze over. Tourist trails are laid in such a way as to cover the most colorful landscapes. You will also be offered walks on wooden decks, swims on boats and ferries.
Many of these objects are UNESCO heritage, but for some reason they are rarely mentioned in encyclopedias. What a pity that many travel companies steal programs and tours from each other, and do not scoop new information to create unique routes.
